My son had a couple of playdates last year with a friend named Max. Max is african american, very nice boy. He’s in a different class now and they dont see each other as much. Anyway, my son has a new friend named Max who he calls “new Max”. New Max is caucasian. I arranged a playdate with him. My son was SO excited, he was yelling “I have a play-day? With Max? NEW max??? Not BLACK Max???”. Funny enough but it doesnt end there.
New Max has a Nanny. She is african american. My son has trouble remembering her name so he calls her what he thinks she IS …

OK so it doesnt end there either. When my son went to New Max’s house for a playdate, Max’s actual mommy came in and he greeted HER with “Hi Max’s Grandma!!”
