Sri Lanka chose to rest their key players against Australia (due to niggles and sorts).
New Zealand followed similar footsteps (make way for the niggles).
Pakistan, on the other hand, chose to rest the entire squad, tour manager and everybody associated, in or out.
When and if Australia reach the finals, will the inevitable happen? Poll choices below:
Option 1) Major yes
Option 2) A big, big no
Option 3 and onwards) *Aag lag jaaye World Cup ko
*
Re: The inevitable - will 'it' happen? Will Australia's shackles be broken?
A big big no
They are just too damn good!
Re: The inevitable - will 'it' happen? Will Australia's shackles be broken?
Anything but option 2
Re: The inevitable - will 'it' happen? Will Australia's shackles be broken?
Australia is going to win the world cup....
Australian Batting line up is too powerful...
Even if Sri Lankan bowlers takes out Ponting and Gilchrist, they still have Hayden, etc.... to pile on massive runs....
Australia is invincible
Re: The inevitable - will 'it' happen? Will Australia's shackles be broken?
^ And because they are good looking ...right?
Re: The inevitable - will 'it' happen? Will Australia's shackles be broken?
^ looks like you got some issues
option 2 - because they deserve it
Re: The inevitable - will 'it' happen? Will Australia's shackles be broken?

Re: The inevitable - will 'it' happen? Will Australia's shackles be broken?
The answer is modified option 1. Yes - but with either of the following happening:
a) Either Australia fall from grace and hit a low point on form of their key batsmen. No doubt their batting is a key reason behind their wins right now.
b) Another team can equal them in batting and has an edge in bowling. Many have the potention but have not risen to the challenge. And yes even Pakistan has the potential.
c) Many key players retire from the Australian side leaving them of lesser strength.
So in the short term, I think Australia should win this WC once again. If SA or SL are in the final with Australia they will need to forget about their reputation and play them like any other team. Otherwise, it matters less who Australia faces in the final. This is the main reason Australia ( a winner always wants to win) have not let off the gas paddle and want to dominate each game. They want the menace of their winners reputation shadowing each game.
Its all mental now aside from solid batting, bowling and fielding.
