For months after Pakistan’s big security failure, the lal masjid episode, there was media speculation on the failure or potential collusion of ISI in allowing things to reach that far to begin with.
on the other hand, it is said that ‘10’ people with a few months worth of relatively rudimentary training (grunts are trained for longer than these lot were) completely defeated India’s naval defences, roamed around in India’s highest profile city, and fought the full force of assorted indian forces for days, in a city most of them had allegedly never set foot in before.
while the focus of indian media has been on pakistan, i would appreciate some indian perspectives on how its possible that their navy, coast guard, commandoes, police forces were shown to be so shockingly, nakedly incompetant. why is the cowardice of the team of armed indian policemen who hid with the cameraman who took the picture of kasab (who was alone at the time) not a bigger issue?
such shameful behaviour would have been eviscerated elsewhere.
