The Impact of Angels and Shayateen

Re: The Impact of Angels and Shayateen

not entirely clear teaser. you say they bring barakah, what exactly is barakah then? good luck, good fortune, what does it mean, since previously you were saying they cannot impact your life except for recording your aamaal?

clearly if only Allah wills shayateen will come into our homes too, but free will etc is a seperate, very tangly topic as you must already know. I was merely questioning what influence they have.

In another thread, sharaabi said that having pictures/statues in your house prevents angels from coming into your house. Im just asking what they do?

Re: The Impact of Angels and Shayateen

Barakah, I mean peace, wisdom, blessing of Allah :swt: in your life, in your house and so on. I still state that angels do not impact your life BUT only with the will of Allah :swt:. What I mean is that if an angel sees you praying Tahajut and thinks you should be rewarded for this good deed, that will not happen. He will report it to Allah :swt: and only if Allah :swt: wills to reward you than the angel will get orders and act upon that.

No, as per my understanding Allah :swt: never wills bad for us nor He wills shayateen to come into our house. Only we ourselves are responsible for that. For example if I am hungry and looking to earn some food to fulfill my hunger, shaytaan puts a waswasa in my mind that I should steel but I do have control on myself not to act upon those bad thoughts. If I am aware of the punishment that will help me to control my “nufs” and not to act upon those bad thoughts. On the other hand I could be careless and just try to fulfill my hunger no matter what I have to do.

About picture/statues they are considered haram so it prevent angels entering the house. We most of the time follow Islam selectively. For instance I could be praying 5 times a day but I don’t mind having statues in my house because I see those statues make my house/room/garden look more beautiful so I keep them in my house/room/garden even though my intention is not to worship them still its wrong because the law of Allah :swt: says not to do so. Based on this what I understand that when I am praying the angels may enter my house only for that period of time and after that they get out of my house or it could be they do not enter my house at all even though if I am praying 5 times. I am obaying Allah :swt: by praying 5 times but on the other hand I am disobaying Allah :swt: as well.

These are very small things but they do affect the way we practice our religion we may not see the consequences at this time or in this world but it will be all clear on the day of judgment but than it will be too late. One example I would like to state here is of the Sahabas who were given the good news of entering Janah but still that never let them disobay Allah :swt: or stopped them following the way of Prophet Muhammad :saw:. And here I am just praying 5 times, I think I am doing good enough to enter Janah and on the day of judgment Allah :swt: will let me enter Jannah. No my friend its not easy to earn Janah if we can’t follow Quran and Sunnah fully instead of just pick and chose.
