The horrors Guppies Shouldn't See

The exhibition of the photos of the Iraqi prisoner abuse prove the old adage: “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Seeing in print what has been done to other human beings does nothing to portray the stark horror in the same way as seeing it. In the thread on Abu Ghraib, one Guppy asked another as follows:

** “[GUPPY NAME] are the pictures necessary on this forum. Do we really need to see our muslim brothers being humiluated.” **

The response was a darn good one and is as follows:

** “We need to know the full truth and horror about what is being inflicted on our brothers.” **

And another Guppy, after seeing the pictures came to the obvious conclusion:

** “This is the most shameful act I can imagine, America has lost all credibility, sadly.” **

Yesterday, the videotape of the gruesome beheading of an American was released. One Guppy posted the link for Guppies to see for themselves the videotape. The pictures were not posted forcing anyone to see the horror. The link was removed.

The reason this link should be there is the same reason why the pictures of the Iraqi prisoner abuse should be available.

** People need to know the full truth and horror about what is being inflicted by their brothers.” **

I can assure the Guppy who couldn’t imagine a more shameful act being perpetrated on another than the Iraqi prisoner abuse, that the videotaped beheading would broaden his imagination. That Allah was being praised while the poor man’s head was sawed off should make anyone’s eyes open to the full truth and horror about what is being perpetrated in the name of Islam in the world today. Seeing it in print is too easy. Seeing it and hearing the invocation of God’s name during the act is the only way you will know the full truth and horror.

Removing the link reminds me of the line from some movie that I can’t remember the name of. ** “The truth. You want the truth. Sorry, but you can’t handle the truth.” **

:nook: For removing the link.

Great MV, so it took you that long to see the fiefdom of WA. Kncukleheads they are all of them..spend more time in general yaar, and since you are a lawyer, answer my question in C&A.

A lot of them are just upset because their student visa's are about to expire and then they have to go back.

Not that you are asking an explanation for removal of that link, but just out of curiousity, did you see the video yourself?

I did. And, it was horrible. I don't care about political points being scored one way or the other, but the video was horrible. Killing a human being just like they kill a lamb.

Now, this has nothing to do with what political bias you want to bring in. We removed several pics of Iraqi prisoner abuse from GS, because those were gory. Infact a whole thread was removed. Several pics of bloody and gory pics of Iraqis were also removed.

There is no prohibition of discussing the topic. There is no prohibition in putting pics of the event itself to prove the point. But, if someone puts the whole video in here, sorry, that has to go. Same is true for Americans killing Iraqis. The gunship video was only permitted cz they were b&w and not too vivid (even they are on a borderline).

We are not in the business of controlling what you see and hear. Internet is full of search engines, and people can easily google to see that video if they want.

MV, could you please provide the link to the photos posted on Gupshup? I couldn't find any.

BTW, that's from the movie, A Few Good Men.

Are u a member of the free mason’s, influencing us through media.

PS: there is a thread in world about that, see the response there (with or without the link), don’t generalize in general.

I think the link to the video is really gruesome. However, if you think that the link should be provided and personally I have no problem with it being provided, it would also be nice for the American govt to publish all the torture pictures including the ones they are showing it to the lawmakers only.

For the American govt not publishing all the torture pictures. :nook:

Roman: There are pics embedded in responses in the thread dealing with Abu Ghraib.

Faisal:
Whether GS actually hosts the videotape or shows pictures is wholly within the discretion of the Administrators. The link was posted by a Guppy to another site so that anyone who wanted to see it could go there to see it. I doubt very much that Google has indexed the site that has the video and thus it would not likely be found by doing a search on any search engine. This was information not readily obtainable from sources other than here and probably other chat rooms with which I am unfamiliar.

Yes. I watched the video. Saying it was "horrible" is like the understatement of the entire century. I had a very difficult time not vomiting when the act was being performed. Coupled with the audio which included the screams and the chants praising God, I have never been as badly shaken after witnessing or seeing anything as I was after viewing it. That is the face of the enemy. EVERYONE's ENEMY. You could not come closer to the devil and pure evil as you will watching that video.

I don't know who removed the link to the video here but I removed one earlier this afternoon too. Anyone who thinks that seeing somoene murdered in cold blood and having their head sawn off makes essential viewing is depraved in my view. There is a limit to political point scoring and if you can't see that you need help.

Extreme:
There is no political point scoring in this. If you can't see that, then it is you who need the help not me. That video, better than any words, depicts who and what is being fought in the war on terror. There is pure evil out there in this world and it wears many guises. It's time for you to see it.

And still you say that GS should send its members to view the video? I am sorry. If someone is craving to see the video, they can find out where to look for it. Else, we (GS) won't be the place to provide such links. It goes both ways. Bloody and mutilated bodies of Iraqis are also off-limits. Not because of political reasons, but because of human reasons and that this is not a forum for mature people only. We don't enforce viewer age restrictions, so we have to be extra careful.

So this video is being shown un-edited on prime time tv in the US is it?

Get real man.

And by the way, when we removed a whole thread full of explicit pics of prison abuse, we got essentially the same response that why are we trying to hide the brutalities of US troops and not "helping" our muslim brothers. The answer is the same. It has nothing to do with whose side we are on. Its purely because the pics are too graphic and over-board for GS.

Yes and the Iraqi's saw the prison abuse photos too and could say they know what they are fighting for, your point?

If someone released a video of an american soldier raping an Iraqi I would hope that was removed too.

Anyone who wants the video can get it on the net.

Gupshup doesn't "SEND" members to view anything. A Guppy who provides information on where some Guppy can view something is quite different.

There are people who would like to know the "full truth and horror" of what is going on in the world today. I want to know the "full truth and horror" about what some sh*thead US GI's did to Iraqi prisoners. As painful as those pictures were to view as a US citizen, GS did a service by posting them.

Thap's response demonstrates exactly why people should be exposed to painful truths. In addition to seeing the Iraqi prison abuse photos, Iraqis ought to see or be able to see the beheading done in the name of Islam. According to Thap, the Iraqis now know they are fighting against Americans making Iraqi prisoners masturbate and engage in simulated sex on camera. They should also know that Americans are fighting against a bunch of folks who saw off Americans' heads on film in the name of the Allmighty.

MV bhai jaan....those pictures were published everywhere, this video isnt. We sorta follow the standard of well know publications (Pakistani or abroad depending on the issue), its written in the registration agreement.

You just cant compare the prison pics to this video. As OG said somewhere....a lot of kids visit gupshup.
