The history of JEEVAY JEEVAY PAKISTAN and MERA INAAM PAKISTAN

Since this is the month of August (Our Country’s birth month) all of us see various NATIONAL songs being shown on almost all the deluge of channels in our beautiful country PAKISTAN.

Let me–at this stage, tell you about the history of these two historical songs which are on every lip these days.

JEEVAY JEEVAY PAKISTAN:

During the RUNN OF KUTCHH war with India…the need for National Songs to boost the moral of our great Pak Army and Countrymen was greatly felt. That was in 1969. Since my father’s national song “AIE WATAN KE SAJEELAY JAWANOUN” by Noor Jehan, written in 1964, had already made it top in 1965 war, the Chairman PIA then…approached my Dad (Jamiluddin Aali) to write something focusing on integeration of EAST & WEST Pakistan as problems had started arising between two brotherhood wings of our country then. Dad wrote JEEVAY PAKISTAN which was recorded by the then PIA ARTS ACADEMY under Hameed Nasim but politics held back he song till came July-1971 when Ishrat Ansari of PTV-Karachi Studios called in SHAHNAZ BEGUM and requested Sohail Rana to compose the music. Finally the song got ready and was released on PTV on 14th August-1971 so by default it will be celebrating its’s 37th year this 14th August which incidently is my birthday also.

Before leaving for Dhaka, Shahnaz visited our family and told my Dad that she can forget anything of her memories of Pakistan but JEEVAY PAKISTAN.

MERA INAAM PAKISTAN-MERA PAIGHAM PAKISTAN:

Dad wrote this originally in 1973 when Pakistan’s constitution was made under ZAB Government. It was produced by Radio Pakistan and sung by (late) Ahmed Rushdie. TEN years back on 50th (GOLDEN JUBILEE) of Pakistan..the MCB approached Aalijee and requested that NUSRAT FATEH ALI has desired to sing a National Song as he has never sung one before and that Dad should write one for MCB to release on 50th Independence year of the Country sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali. Then Nusrat visited my Dad’s place and Dad told him to re-do the one sung by Rushdie and Nusrat gladly accepted it and the entire video and song was done courtesy MCBL and released on 14th August-1997. After one year, MCBL gifted it to the PTV and after another year–with Dad’s permission the song was declared as National Archive like JEEVAY JEEVAY Pakistan as free for all channels without copyright implications.

HUM MUSTAFAWI HEIN was written by my Dad… for 1974 Islamic Summit at Lahore. Again it was composed by Sohail Rana.

THE FIRST EVER HIT SONG AS MOTIVATOR BY DAD WAS “MEIN CHOTTA SA AIK LARKA HOUN PER KAAM KAROUNGA BARRAY BARRAY” and “ETNAY BARAY JEEVAN SAGAR MEIN TOU NE PAKISTAN DIYA..HO ALLAH HO ALLAH” was written by him in 1974.
