The hereafter

Can any one tell me whats been said on meeting people in the hereafter. For example, do you get to see your parents, spouse, children etc etc?

Also- whats up with the 72 virgins for men? What is that, in what context?

Re: The hereafter

That’s a nice question, thanks for asking…

Yes we will InshaALLAH see, meet and do whatever we want as ALLAH says in Quran…

"Jo hamari aayaton per emaan laaye aur musalman thay (69) Unse kaha jaega keh tum khud aur tumhari biwiyaan jannat me daakhil hojao tum khush rakhay jaogay (70) Inke samne sonay ki plaiton aur saghar ka dor chalega aur wahan (jannat me) wo sab kuch mojood hoga jiski nafs khuahish karega aur jis se aankhon ko khushi milegi aur tum wahan hamesha rahogay (71)

Reference: Surat-ul-Zukhruf, verses # 69, 70 & 71…

& According to the second part of your question… Yes it is said that men in jannah will be rewarded by 70 or 72 hoorain or ghulam… on the other hand what will then women get ? they’ll get rewards which are beyind words and imaginations… and context is, hoorain are Pakeeza auratein as in khidmatgaar ghulam for men as well as women..

Re: The hereafter

Asalaamu Alaikum sister. Very good questions. Firstly we can only meet family, spouse, friends etc if they are in Jannah in the first place. Secondly it depends on the rank of Jannah whom can meet whom. This is because not everyone will be equal in Jannah and Jahannam. If you did more good deeds and was a better person than me and closer to Allah and had less sins then of course you will be in a higher Jannah than me. For example if our Mother is at a higher Jannah than only she can come down to see us. We cannot go up to higher Jannah to see them.

Also the higher the Jannah the more often we can see and meet with Allah. The highest Jannah is called Jannatal Firdaus. It is where we can see the beautiful face of Allah - which is the best gift for a jannati believer - everyday and the lower ranks less often. So we should make Dua and effort to reach the highest Jannah and there is nothing stopping us except ourselves achieving this Jannah.

With regards to Hoorain then again it depends on the rank of the person and also many other factors which Allah knows best. The main thing that Allah tells us is that each believer will have a partner. There will be no Jannati that will not have a partner. Some women say men get this and that then what will women get? I tell them - Is the promise of reward for the believing men and women in Paradise not enough for he doubters?

And whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while being a believer – those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged[Quran 4:124]

Almighty Allah will NEVER do an atoms worth of injustice to the believing men and women and he has promised this in the Qur’an. So why should anyone doubt this?

It is from our nafs (desires/ego) and the whispers of shaythan that he deceives many women into thinking they will get “less” than men. But who do you believe? The liar and enemy of mankind of the creator who himself promised equal and just rewards for ALL believing men and women in Paradise!

In our short lives in this world we should concentrate on doing as much good as we can, trying our best to obey and please Allah so that we can be admitted to Paradise in the first place

Hope that helps sister

Re: The hereafter

Thank you fir all the responses. But the 72 virgins part, no one has a direct answer i guess, as to WHY men are going to be given that. whats the reason? Why is it necessary? And what are they supposed to do with them? Be his wives? Like, stuff like that.

Re: The hereafter

They’ll be his wives. Though I’m not where the 72 figure comes from.

Re: The hereafter

Asalaamu Alaikum,

My sister we should not concern ourselves on matters that are not clear as yet. There have been some indications in hadith regarding the Hour’ieen and Allah has also mentioned them in the Qur’an but there is a difference of opinion with regards to the numbers and one thing is certain though that everyone will be with a partner In Jannah. But many of us concern ourserlves with what we will get in Jannah. But what guarantee is there that we will get to Jannah in the first place let alone what we will get.

However what we do know for certain is that Allah has PROMISED fair and just rewards for the believers and that the belivers will be satisfied with what Allah gives them. Allah is not like us he will never break his promises. So is the promise of just and fair reward and that the believers will be fully satisfied with the rewards not enough for the doubters?

And whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while being a believer – those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged [Quran 4:124]

This video gave me so much comfort. Highly recommended to watch esp’ if you have lost a loved one.

Reuniting With Your Loved Ones After Death – Emotional Reminder by Omar Suleiman

Omar Suleiman said in this video that, “The Prophet (pbuh) said, the believing souls will gather to receive you as you enter into that realm with more love and more desire than long long relatives.”

Re: The hereafter

This is not in the Quran. It is from quoted hadith which some question the accuracy of.

Re: The hereafter

Peace @akaprincess,

**a) **Answer of the first part is lengthy and many of us already answered in details. However, I’ll summarize and answer is short. Almighty Allah says in Glorious Qur’an (Chapter 52 Verse 21): “And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds.”

The people of paradise will visit one another, recognize one another and meet one another and nothing to prevent someone of a lower status in Paradise from visiting one who is above him, as also happens in this world. Furthermore, the people of paradise will also be able to recognize people of hell even though if that person in the midst of hell.

**b) **Answer of your second part regarding 72 virgins for men is narrated in Hadith of Tirmidi, “Book of Virtues of Jihad”, which is as under:

Narrated Al-Miqdam bin Ma’diykarib: "That the Messenger of Allah :saw2: said: “There are six things with Allah for the martyr. He is forgiven with the first flow of blood (he suffers), he is shown his place in Paradise, he is protected from punishment in the grave, secured from the greatest terror, the crown of dignity is placed upon his head - and its gems are better than the world and what is in it - he is married to seventy two wives along Al-Huril-'Ayn of Paradise, and he may intercede for seventy of his close relatives.”
[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

As per context of the above hadith, not all men will be rewarded with 72 wives except the martyr. Other men will have their own wife(ves) as they had in this world.

I hope the above short details will clear your doubt.

Almighty Allah knows best.

Re: The hereafter

Do I get to choose which hoors I want in Jannah? I don’t mind Katrina and Mehwish Hayat among the 72 beautiful women!

Re: The hereafter

**as I recall there is one or more Ahadees describing the size of the smallest Jannah awarded to the lowest Jannati being many times the size of our one Planet Earth! (per Moulana Yusuf Rehmatullah Elahe)

Therefore in Jannah one will have many houses/residences spread all over hence the need for that many homemakers, and one will have the means to travel all over his granted Gifts from Allah SWT!**

Re: The hereafter

Peace @NavAhmed,

Strive for it (as stated in hadith - do as commanded by Almighty Allah) and you’ll get what eyes never had seen, ears never had heard and heart never ever been happier then on that day.
