Field mice and other small animals LOVE peppers (both chilli and bell). It used to drive my mother, an avid gardener - bonkers. The peppers would just about be ripe enough to harvest and the little buggers would have already swiped the vegetables. She’s given up on her vegetable garden and now she just plants flowers.
