That is due to our history.This history started from Liaqat Ali Khan Touring America instead of Russia. And later our uniformed rulers who sold their souls to USA for the government for few days.We have lost our integrity . I say you true when I see Presedent Zardari talking I think that he is only proper man who if desire can change the senario because he is a person who is fully aware of our actual sotial structure .Many others who bring tears to their eyes on love of the nation are often ready to sell every thing for money and power.

In addition to Anwar Pasha's comments, the biggest kiss a$$ of Uncle Sam in the history of Pakistan was General Mush who made the whole nation of Pakistanis as slaves of America in his 9 years rule. He sh!t in his pants when ever he recievs a call at 2a.m. even from Assistant Secretary.:)

The respect is not given unless it is asked. Zardari can ask for foreign minister to speak and just go fishing in the meantime.

Even Mike Mullen, the current US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) on his frequent trips to Islamabad would speak directly to the President when he should really be having discussions with his counterpart Gen. Tariq Majeed. I know that the post is largely ceremonial but as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), Gen. Majeed is, in principle the highest ranking military official in the country even if COAS Gen. Kiyani appears the one in charge
I guess our ruling elite (military or civilian) has a huge inferiority complex when it comes to a gora esp. an American and they are quite happy being photographed with any visitor regardless of their rank or status

Yeah something that happened in 1948 is the exact direct and causal reason why Zardari is such a weak leader. Brilliant display of logic there.

Our problem is that most of our leaders are installed.
These leaders have a very dodgy past and yanks sitting in washinghton have all the necessary details. So why would any of these leaders dare upset their masters?
Solution? We need leadership from the middle/lower class. No more corrupt, elite bandits!
Vote for someone you believe is patriotic and not corrupt.

I think for a country to maintain an equal clout vs bigger or smaller powers...it must have a great industrial & agricultural output...preferably selfsustaining...and should not walk from door to door in a begging mode...
PS: Although the present governments of Pakistan are elected by our folks...with all respect...to me...they are not trustable whether they are telling the truth or lies to the nation or the outer world... :)
There is no disagreement on your logic. But your logic is applicable to honorable nation ruled by democratic leaders chosen by people since its inciption or foundation of the country. Unfortunately in last nine years, particularly, nation has been treated, brainwashed as a slave nation to Uncle Sam. Mush is all responsible for this psycological disaster and lack of self esteem. It would take at least one decade to restore to your standard if the demcracy is allowed run the country.

Who is denying that Musharraf was not a stooge. The issue I have is the typical Pakistani attitude of "but someone else did it as well". Just because someone else does it who cares. A man's character is his own. Zardari's is lacking. Regardless of Musharraf and his faults. Zardari is his own man.
This really really irritates me about Pakistanis. Unable to accept the faults in those who they like, they say "Ohh look he is worse". Stupidity and weakness is just that regardless what the other person is like.
Forget about Rice.
When that call came in from Pranab Mukherjee (or someone pretending to be him) to the foreign ministry of Pakistan, he was promptly transferred to Zardari.
Even indian FM (or FM pretender) is at Zardari's level.
Its not them, its us.

Have anyone seen the 'File' at Geo about murder of Liaqat Ali Khan,There was truth but un-complete,They were pointing to Ghulam Muhammad and others but real enimity is never quoted. So called Field Martial was sentenced to a without crown posting in East Pakistan by GREAT Qauid-e-Azam on a refference sent by Liaqat Ali Khan,He was than perhaps a Brigadiar.He was making a path and took only six year to reach to power.

The people elect from a group of pre-elected (by the elite). There is no real election, it's all a gimmick to fool the people and sad that we the people get fooled all the time. Just like Americans got fooled again in believing the "messiah" Obama. Good news, people are waking up, insh'Allah day will come when justice will prevail.
