The heart and mind of a man...

Do guys let their mind and sense of logic/practicality rule their heart or their heart rule their mind and sense of logic/practicality when it comes to their partner/girlfriend/wife?

How important is it for a guy to protect his heart from getting hurt or are they more willing to risk it all for the potential payout of being in a happy committed relationship?

Re: The heart and mind of a man...

Do they even have hearts and minds?

Re: The heart and mind of a man…

^ I bloody well hope so! Otherwise the search for Mr. Right-for-me has been an exercise in futility :grumpy:

Re: The heart and mind of a man...

Its a myth that men are emotionally dead . Actually I read a paper about how men are more emotional than women . So yea there is a good chance that a woman can keep her emotions in control than men . BUT million dollar question is , if man is emotionally involved or not , if he is , he'll do anything to make it happen .

PS: Rona dhona, and doing all the drama bazi is not part of being ''emotionally'' involved.

Re: The heart and mind of a man...

Which head are we talking about here?

Don't you think the answer to this question will vary? I should think so.

Re: The heart and mind of a man…

I so totally expected that comment from CM :hehe: I will go back and clarify, lest improper comments be attributed to me

Re: The heart and mind of a man...

Yeh I think the answer depends on the person, the same question can be applied to women as well. Its a matter of personality.

Re: The heart and mind of a man...

I think a sammich decides what their heart is going to rule.

Re: The heart and mind of a man...

So their stomach trumps their heart and mind?

Re: The heart and mind of a man…

@Gaia brilliant…lol

I’m in such a man-bashing mood right now.

Re: The heart and mind of a man...

Well based on the saying that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach....

Tsk tsk...such primitive creatures...these men.

Re: The heart and mind of a man...

not all men are the same, you really can't generalize about them just like you can't stereotype women. some men will take risks and some will be more protective of their heart b/c their heart is fragile and will not be able to handle a breakup

Re: The heart and mind of a man...

Re: The heart and mind of a man…

Re: The heart and mind of a man...

Men just do a better job of balancing the two, without binging (on ice-cream) whinging (to friends or internet) or shopping (anywhere)

Re: The heart and mind of a man…

Wrong again. It’s the johnson that trumps em’ both :chai:

Re: The heart and mind of a man...

Whether an individual is more rational, or more emotional, or right-brained or left-brained, or more/less risk-averse isn't entirely contingent on their sex. Personality/nurture/astrology determines a person's rational + emotional map. Being a sap or a drama queen isn't exclusive to being female (as demonstrated with recent threads), just as logic isn't the exclusive territory of men. I've seen rational men lose all bearings when it comes to a woman (even as they claim to prize substance over the frivolous), just as I've seen emotional women assessing a relationship with cold logic (even when they're in love with the idea of love and the intangible kuch kuch hota hai otherwise known as raw lust).

So no one can tell you how men, as a group, will behave in a romantic context, except maybe Cosmopolitan (staple reading for the crowd here no doubt). You can, however, measure these traits with tests like the Myers-Briggs.
