I was talking to my (older) neighbour about this and in conversation, she is raised a really good point. People spending their last days and dying in hospital is a relatively modern phenomenon. Historically, most people died in their homes. People were cared for at home by their family members with doctors making the occasional house call when necessary. As such, it is quite likely and normal that most older homes have probably had a death or two in them.
I wouldn't care if someone got old and died naturally in their home. I don't really see anything wrong with that, everyone dies.
But murder, suicides, graves on site - I would avoid buying it. Simply because if I want to sell it myself in the future - that could cause problems for me too.
I don't believe in any of that hocus pocus stuff but I would rather avoid any future problems with the property.
