The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

Im sure youve all seen pictures....but i will be posting them soon!!!

if thats ok with the powers that be?????

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

Am I the only one who finds this to be really weird? What is the point of showing his hair and doing dua over it? It's as if people are worshipping him instead of Allah. However, for historical purposes, I would be curious to see it ...

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

I agree.
Oh I forgot to mention that my mumaani also had the coctail jar of water....where she was giving one glass to drink to everyone in very tiny glasses, it sort of reminded me of church.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

So didnt the sahaba used to try and obtain the water that The Holy Prophet (SAW) used for wudu and rub it over themselves? before you guys ask for references..sorry i dont remember ...but im sure someone can verify it

Did they have any need to that? They could have just prayed to Allah!.
No the hair is not being worshipped. Just being adorned as it belonged to our Prophet (saw) for whom be have so much love and admiration.

:)

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

^ the point was made very clear i think in my first post, adorning the hair is not wrong, praying to it is....
and some ppl do actually go and pray to such things....
which is shirk, whether u like it or not....

and i dont see why someone shud think that if u cannot pray to a thing, u cannot respect it....

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

here yu go..check the pic yourselves!

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

as-Sahabi Hadhrat Khalid bin Walid radi'Allahu anh' used to wear the prophet (saws) hairs on his turban, and from that point on, every battle he ever fought, he won, and you may look through the ahadith for its reference, as I do not have time tonight to provide references I am just about to leave and wanted to give my response, but I will be back on Sunday. I wanted to say, that if someone is curious and wants to know the truth, please, be my guest and go and research these things instead of debating over it and maybe you will see that no one denies Allah subhanahu wa ta 'ala as their Rabb, that he is Allah the Only One while they seek the blessings of the prophet's relics and athar. If someone wants to take the initiative and bring forth those references, by all means please bring it regarding people like Sahabi Khalid bin Walid (ra) and why he kept the hairs of the prophet on his amama, and look up other plentiful references as well. I will be back on Sunday, Wassalaam.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

where did they get this hair and tooth from. did the prophets dentist and trichologist provide it??.....just kidding.
on a more serious note... whats the big deal about a few strands of hair and a tooth. its time society just matured enough to take it easy and not make a big fuss about things that arent really that significant.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

Masha'Allah your tone in regards to Rasul-Allah (saws) whether it be anything of his makes your respect for him shine forth clearly. Even the Jews at one point in time had enough respect to keep the relics of Nabi Musa (as), yet you say "who cares about some teeth or hairs"? Masha'Allah.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

For Hareem,

You said that it is not the only way we can get close to Allah subhanahu wa ta 'ala by seeking the blessings or Rasul-Allah's (saws) relics and athar (hairs, tooth, garments, etc.), but that suffices to say, yes there are many other ways, doing dhikr-Allah and Salawat (sending Salaatu was-Salaam upon him (saws)) abundently, staying in and being in the company of Mashayakhin because of their closeness to Allah azza wa jaal because of their closeness to Rasul-Allah, and even loving your parents, children, wife, and the entire Muslim Ummah for the sake of Rasul-Allah (saws), as he (saws) said to us that "you do not love me until you love me more than your own selves, family and all of creation." Or that he told us that we should love him more than anything in all of creation. Through this we see that he (saws) is the closest to Allah (SWT) and for us to seek closesness to Allah (SWT) we see the connection through Rasul-Allah (saws) as an obvious point of direction, not in worship as Allah azza wa jaal praises Rasul-Allah (saws) Himself in the Qur'an and tells us that He (SWT) and the Malaika (angels) are sending prayers and praises upon Rasul-Allah (saws).

If our Creator, Allah does this, how can we be so arrogant and not? There are many who think that we cannot praise Rasul-Allah (saws) unfortunately and start screaming shirk the moment someone praises him (saws).

Seeking the means of Rasul-Allah begins with our Kalima La ilaha il-Allah Muhammad ar-Rasul-lillah.

Allah subhanahu wa ta 'ala praises Rasul-Allah (saws) so much that he (SWT) has put Rasul-Allah's (saws) name next to His! Is this shirk to understand that such a high level of respect, adoration and reverence for Rasul-Allah (saws) is absolutely and undeniably apparent? Your Kalima is not just La ilaha il-Allah. For without Muhammad ar-Rasul-lillah, our Kalima is not the Kalima anymore.

This is my point as to why I always am disappointed whenever someone take the easy route of yelling shirk when this is not the case at all.

Rasul-Allah (saws) has said in his (saws) sayings, that:

"I am closer to you than your own selves."

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

alrite listen,
u might have heard of a concept of “attack the message not the messenger”.
let me introduce a very similar concept…“respect the message not the messenger”
hence, i may have respect for the prophet but why should i have respect for his biological parts??
now do you see my viewpoint a bit better??

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

"All Praises and thanks are Allahs"
I disagree in one point..........(you said we Praise Prophet(saw))
We love Prophet Muhammad(saw) more then all the creation of Allah.....But we don't praise him(saw).
I don't know what do you mean by "praise"......"hamd"(praise) is only for Allah.
I'm sorry but I can't agree at this point.
We Love Allah more than Prophet(saw).

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

How can you even say such things??

For all of you, do you even know what his (saws) name means?

His name is "Ahmed" mentioned in the Taurat and the Injil and the Zabur, his (saws) mother Lady Aminah (as) first named Rasul-Allah (saws) as Ahmed.

Ahmed means "Most Praised One" in Arabic.

How can you say that we cannot praise him?

Good thing I am here this morning to address this very serious issue before I leave, I'm glad Alhumdulillah all praise and thanks is due to Allah (swt) through His Rasul (saws).

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

^ I am sure harmeen01 misunderstood it as "worship" rather than "respect".

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

sultan-e-madina
Do you love Allah(Swt) more than the Prophet(saw)?

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

And it says, in the Qur'an:

"And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah: 'They are dead.' Nay, they are living, though ye perceive (it) not. (Quran, 2:154)"

As the Shuhadah (Martyrs) are alive yet we perceive it not, this is their description in the Holy Qur'an, and the status of Ambiya alaiyhis salaatu was salaam is higher than that of the Shuhadah. That is why the Prophets (as), lead by Rasul-Allah (saws) are alive in their graves yet we pereive it not.

This is just an example of as to how important everything including the body of Rasul-Allah (saws) are so important, regardless of what you say, it is clear and noted how much all of his (saws) companions would make sure that even any of his (saws) hair or his tooth during the battle of Uhud were not lost but instead kept and held for their miraculous blessings.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

My name is not Sultan-e-Madina this is the title of Rasul-Allah (saws), I say Ya before his name as a sign of my adab and respect for him (saws).

Allah (swt) is the Creator, who does not? That is a silly question.

Let me ask you a question,

Do you love Rasul-Allah (saws) more than your parents and your family and yourself?

This is the Sunnah of Rasul-Allah (saws) and this is what he taught us and said for us to live, with this understanding.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

change your nick then.........what shall i call you.........I don't wanna call you "ya sultan_e-madina" either.
Its not "SILLY" its a "SIMPLE" question.
Yes I Do Love Prophet Muhammad(saw) more then my self,my family etc...............but not more then Allah.
DO you?

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

Allah [swt] also says that Worship Him only.
**It is also stated several times that "
do not worship*" the prophets...then how come you have placed Prophet body, hair, tooth to be **divine* and comitted shirk.

Several places in the Quran - its revealed that Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] is just a Man.

[quote]

That is why the Prophets (as), lead by Rasul-Allah (saws) are alive in their graves yet we pereive it not.

[/quote]
Saying things that are not known is a sin...Please refrain.
Yes, there is no doubt that Prophets are alive.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

So you accuse me of committing shirk, masha'Allah we shall see on yawm al-qiyamat as Rasul-Allah (saws) said of the one who accuses his muslim brother of shirk.

In regards to you saying to refrain from saying things that are not known, what are you talking about? This is the commonly held belief understood by the scholars of Ahl' as Sunnah wa'l Jama'ah that the prophets are alive in their graves. Let me help guide you towards the truth on this matter beginning with this, so that you may realize that you should not be judgemental of others based on your personal life track record of what you envision what Islam is, as compared to the reality of what is this deen:

**
inn-Allaha qad Harrama `ala al-arDi an ta'kula ajsâd al-anbiyâ'.

"Allah has defended the earth from consuming the bodies of Prophets".**

A Sahih Hadith related on the authority of Aws ibn Aws al Thaqafi in:

  1. Musnad, ibn Hanbal
  2. Musannaf, ibn Abi Shaybah
  3. Sunan al-Kubra, Abu Dawud
  4. Sunan, ibn Majah
  5. Mustadrak, Hakim
  6. Kabir, al-Tabarani
  7. Hayat un-Anbiya, Imam al-Bayhaqi And many more of the same hadith recorded in numerous Sunni books of hadith.

Dawud ibn Salih says:

"[The Umayyad Caliph] Marwan [ibn al-Hakam] one day saw a man placing his face on top of the grave of the Prophet . He said: "Do you know what you are doing?" When he came near him, he realized it was Sahabi Abu Ayyub al-Ansari. The latter said:** "Yes; I came to the Prophet , not to a stone. **I heard the Prophet say:

Do not weep on religion if its people assume its leadership (walyahu), but weep on it if other than its people assume it."

Ahmad 5:422, Hakim (Mustadrak 4:515); both the latter and al-Dhahabi said it was sahih. It is thus cited by as-Subki (Shifa' as-siqam p. 126), Ibn Taymiyya (al-Muntaqa 2:261f.), and al-Haythami (al-Zawa'id 4:2).
