So the hair of the Prophet (SAW) is going to be displayed at a mosque near me…

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

do they allow DNA testing? or carbon dating?

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

that wud come under "be-hurmati" and a big no no....

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

Armuhgal, I think that it would help a lot of young Muslim who are always looking for some proof, even though the nay sayers would always come up with a new excuse not to believe, but I think it should be done, and I dont understand the part of be-hurmati.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

I think I have seen it in a museum in Istanbul,Turkey and if I am not mistaken I think its brown...it was a long time ago.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

I just saw them also this past weekend on a Milaad at my mumaani's. I had seen it before it also when I was very young, but this one felt very different. I guess it was very unexpected, I didn't know she had them and all of a sudden I was asked to make a dua standing front of the table where the hair was in this beautiful huge glass cover. I didn't know what to do or what to say for a while, little shocking. I just did not want to even imagine to be disrespectful or anything but I really felt very weird. Little confused if I should pray something or not? So i guess I just said darood and say salam and thats about it :( I felt very lucky that I got the chance to see it, but I don't see any reason for praying to it like many people were.
However after seeing it, I just wished so much that somehow I could see him in my dreams when I go to sleep, I always wanted it.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

How did your mumaani get a hold of it ?

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

what color was it?

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

Jal Pari I don;t think people are praying to the hair. The prayer is probably still to Allah.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

^ if ppl can eat the sand of madinah believing it to be some sort of "barkat" and have magical "shifaa", then hair of the Prophet (saw) is something big, dont u think????

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

i cant believe how stupid some people can be ....

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

Agreed but at the same time they do not pray to the sand of medina right?
Maybe the presence of the hair gives them a more barkat wali feel or something and that is why they offer a prayer in its presence. Saying durood shareef when seeing it is quite alright though. When our people do not pray to Prophet Muhammad :saw: I doubt they would be jahil enough to pray to his hair. Eating the sand is something though :hehe:

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

^ they do pray to the Prophet (saw) too....
they just dont wish to admit that its prayer....

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

we don't know thier intentions.........do we?

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

^ .....is not the hadith clear about not following the ways of infidals..., going to pirs, mazaars, etc......

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

"In the name of Allah most gracious most Merciful"
All praise and thanks are Allah's,the Lord of the Al-ameen.
The Most Gracious,Most Merciful.
The only Owner of the day of recompence.
You alone we worship and You alone we ask for help.
Guide us to the straight way.
the way of those on whom you bestwed your grace, not of those who earned your anger and nor of those who went astray."
Again we don't have the right to judge people's intentions..........

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

^ not judging, as Me, You, or anyone else does not have that right; rather guiding people to the "straight path, The Path of those on whom You [The Merciful] bestowed favour, not of those who have invited your wrath, nor of those who have gone astray".

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

i know doing all these things are'nt correct but still the people who do all this stuff.......i think they don't ask for anyone else except Allah but if they ask someone else(Prophet(saw) or someone else pious).still they think only Allah will give them though they ask someone else .
So we should be more tolerant with other muslim's aqeedahs. If people like you who mashaAllah are very good at understanding tauheed. If you treat those people nicely without concerning about thier aqeedahs of invoking.....i think it can be more effective.
hope you understood me.

Re: The hair of The Prophet (SAW)

I've heard this 'hair' story before and theres absolutely no proof whatsoever it belongs to the Prophet (saw). Who took it off the Prophet (saw) and why? What purpose does it serve? Is it mentioned anywhere in Islamic history that the hair was on display or did this story surface later?
