3.) Sachin Tendulkur
4.) Javed Miandad

6.) Imran Khan
7.) Wasim Akram
8.) Shane Warne
9.) Allan Knott
10.) Joel Garner
11.) Muttiah Muralitharan

I started something similar last time but it was ruined by haters who ended up calling names like javeline throwers and chuckers, so please stay out!

Everyone name their eleven and than after a while i will count and post The Ultimate Gupshup XI

Nice eleven, Umair!

Mine:

1) Haynes
2) Tendulkar
3) Viv Richards
4) Brian Lara
5) Steve Waugh
6) Rashid Latif
7) Imran Khan
8) Wasim Akram
9) Saqlain Mushtaq
10) Waqar Younis
11) Murlitharan

Justification for including too many Pakistanis:

In terms of pure keeping abilities, there is no one better than Latif (or at least the Latif that I remember was simply amazing). The rest is simple, we simply have great bowlers no other reason. Waqar made it because of his early 90's performances. And I have two off-spinners because they are very different, great bowlers and can really compliment each other.

  1. Gordon Greenidge
  2. Sachin Tendulkar
  3. Viv Richards
  4. Javed Miandad
  5. Steve Waugh
  6. Gilchrist
  7. Imran Khan
  8. Wasim Akram
  9. Malcolm Marshall
  10. Joel Garner
  11. Murali

Man this thread is dead, it looks like we have alot of kids who just started watching cricket for past couple years.

You're talking about this thread, I think this whole place is dead. I can't believe that I only got 1 hit on the fast bowlers' thread. Imagine the fact that we could have the fastest and perhaps the most fearsome bowling lineup the world has ever seen and yet people are simply not bothered to comment on that.

I'm just chuffed for Zahid and hope he's makes batsmen dance ala Wasim and Shoaib style. And people simply don't care. Are these folks part-time cricket fans or part-time Pakistanis?

yeh to pakistani team lag rahi hey

Justification: Windies superiority in Cricket esp. in ODI in the past is well known. I would have to include some famous names from those teams.
Hedley and Lillee are great names in fast bowling as well. And ofcourse our Pakistani players who have time and again proven that they are one of the greatest "hall of famers", Imran, Javed, Wasim. And I do like the keeping of Rashid Latif.

My Greatest ODI XI therefore is:

  1. Gordon Greenidge
  2. Sachin Tendulkar
  3. Viv Richards
  4. Javed Miandad
  5. Rashid Latif
  6. Imran Khan
  7. Wasim Akram
  8. Michael Holding
  9. Richard Hedley
  10. Dennis Lillee
  11. Joel Garner

My favorite eleven would be:

Sachin Tendulkar
Saed Anwar
Vivian Richards
Javed Mianded
Allen Knot
Clive Loyd
Shaun Warne
Mohinder Amarnath
Imran Khan
Micheal Holding
Richard Hadlee

Here is my List :-

  1. Sachin Tendulkar
  2. Desmond Haynes
  3. Viv Richards
  4. Javed Miandad
  5. Michael Bevan
  6. Adam Gilchrist
  7. Imran Khan (Captain)

Abdul Qadir was a great bowler.

So was Fazal Mahmood.

Any place for them among the greats ?

Joel Garner was a good bowler but was he amongst the greats. I would think Andy Roberts would be up there.

Zaheer Abbas was the Asian Don.

And Wasim Bari amongst the best wicket keepers, along with Geffory Marsh of Australia.

What about Bedi of India - a great soin bowler.

And Kardar as Captain.

  1. Sachin Tendulkar
  2. Desmond Haynes
  3. Viv Richards
  4. Javed Miandad
  5. Michael Bevan
  6. Adam Gilchrist
  7. Imran Khan (Captain)
  8. Kapil Dev
  9. Wasim Akram 10.Mullitharan 11.Joel Garner

12th man: Saeed Anwar

OK, after hardwork, I’ve finally counted the votes and here is the Ultimate Gupshup XI.
