Re: ‘The Greatest’ is gone. Muhammad Ali dies at 74
One of the best KOs in boxing, famously remembered as The Rumble in The Jungle (Zaire, October 30, 1974)
George Foreman was the undisputed World Heavyweight Champion, a tall imposing figure who was at the peak of his physical prowess and 7 years younger than Ali. Foreman was 25, Ali was 32.
Muhammad Ali uses the rope and his gloves intelligently to tire Foreman out before the latter makes the fatal mistake of exposing his chin to Ali. Up until that point it was even stevens between the two. Muhammad Ali pounces on the opportunity to deliver a clinical KO punch.

Alis fights with Joe Frazier, George Foreman and Ken Norton were legend. Frazier never forgave Ali for the trash talk. If I recall Ali called Frazier ugly.
Foreman on the other hand took it all in stride. And saw Alis trash talk for what it was - entertainment.
Thrilla in Manila was another legendary bout with mean Frazier.

George Foreman is pure class and I am not just saying this because he is praising Ali here. In all the interviews/clips that I have watched of him, Foreman is just so respectful of his opponents. A great guy.

Frazier was a formidable opponent too. And I don't think Ali actually meant any of those words he said. Trash talk was just Ali's style to rile up his opponent and throw him off his game.

And the most remarkable thing is that he made all that effort despite suffering from Parkinson's disease at the time. Even in the clip I posted above of the three, Ali is showing early signs of the disease (slowed speech & movements).
