The title does sum it up, but here’s a little more background. I am a handbag fanatic BUT i’m not only going to buy them for the label. If I like it I buy it!I asked my brother for a large tote bag that wasn’t too expensive exclusively to carry Ami’s hospital things in. He bought me a tiger-print Marc Jacobs bag* (lovely of him)* and according to everyone it* ‘wasn’t worth the money’. *And that I should have invested in something that looks like a Marc jacobs’ masterpiece!
The question is, will you pick-up any handbag that you like or will you make sure it carries a brand name?
Who is to decide if the bag is ‘worth-it’ or ‘not-worth-it’?

I might come back to post pictures..
Aww how sweet of your brother!
When I buy a bag I look for quality, I generally find that branded bags are much better quality and they last for a lifetime if looked after well. My mum bought a Mulberry Bayswater years ago and now it's mine but it still looks like brand new! That being said I'm not a label snob and I do carry bags that aren't branded. Just as long as I like the look of it and the quality is good.
Yes but it was such a silly comment made by them! “A” bought me a white Marc Jacob’s bag and they love love it..just because this is a tiger print tote MJ bag..it doesn’t look ‘worth-it’!
… and this came from a gay Phillipino dialysis nurse!
My fav topic!!I'm not a snob but I do buy handbags after looking at the label as well as the quality. The designer ones I have at the moment are 1 Louis Vuitton,1 hermes birkin,1 quited chanel one and recently I brought a dior one. I don't buy on a regular basis but when I do, I buy whatever looks appealing. Also I feel if you spend so much on a bag, you should be able to tell what it is eg gucci, prada etc. However at the end of the day it's the person's own choice!
I love branded bags but the deal breaker for me are mono chrome bags. I am just not the kind of person who feels comfortable with F or G or LV splattered all over my bag. I do own a chanel 2.55, which i suppose is a very recognizable bag :D but the rest don't really scream which brand they are from.I used to love the birkin but having seen COUNTLESS rip offs both in India and Pakistan, I don't wanna spend $7k on something every lahori aunti is carrying worth of ju ju beans.
ooooh we should have a similar thread on designer shoes!!! or maybe append to this thread. I find coach/fendi/prada mono chrome shoes HIDEOUS!!! what do you folks think. So far I own a gorgeous pair of Jimmy Choos, which don't say what brand they are, but they are super gorgeous and comfy and at least for me are worth the dough. wat do you gals think??
^I agree, I don't like the ones with the logo's all over however if its in a corner or written just once, then I don't mind.
ohh I love shoes too,jimmy choo's,louboutins,manolo blahnik's,I love!!

in my opinion i ll definetly pick up the 'gr88 luk' of a bag not actually the brand...(although there is offcourse importance of the brand) but its true dat sometimes we pay for a brand just for nothing n if u hide the lable of brand or just if u wont tell any1 then nobody would believe its worth...n so many times i notice some very cheap bags n really really hv classy luk...
