Re: the great rickshaw debate
I have never ridden in the ones with doors bcoz I havn’t been to Lahor in years! Personally, I like the ones with no doors… its nice and airy and for some reason I feel safer in one coz I think that God forbid, if the driver is aisa-waisa… I can just jump out! However, it costs almost the same to take a taxi for the same distance as it does to catch a rickshaw…
my younger sisters used to call 'em dibya waali garhi ![]()
Re: the great rickshaw debate
LOL i cannot believe there is a thread on rickshaws!! I absolutely LOVE rickshaws, my whole family thinks i'm crazy but there is no other method of transportation that is as distinctly pakistani as the rickshaw (except perhaps decked out minibuses but rickshaws are more fun to ride) i would seriously buy one if i could!
last time i was in pak though i heard they were planning on phasing out the old tin dabay rickshaws for newer less polluting ones, i hope not, that'd be tragic!
Re: the great rickshaw debate
Nothing tops the local vans, thats the ultimate experience. You'll find plentry of those in lahore. Local busses aren't so bad themselves but getting inside these vehicles is the tricky part.
