Re: The Great Debate
Kasuri is openly cursing everyone on TV. What an a$$.
Re: The Great Debate
End was definitely more than funny. But it was also a lot thought provoking, and even a relief to see someone with guts. Yes obviously it was wrong what he did and it was highly objectionable and damages the govt side, but look at who these guys have to survive against. Mob mentality lawyers teaming up with politicized and partial media persons.
Also, the parts where Iftikhar going well suddenly suffers his signature fit, where Hamid and Iftikhar along with the anti-govt panelists giggle at Sher Afgan like school girls making fun of not just a federal minister but also themselves and their program by showing how partial and unprofessional they are, as well as when Iftikhar and Hamid try best to disregard points argued by govt side and keep them from expressing views fully and completely by constantly disrupting, inviting an obviously skewed audience and retorting to sarcastic remarks when Sher Afgan replied in kind were key moments.
Re: The Great Debate
What an A-Hole! This Kasuri is a loose cannon just like Wasi Zafar and Sher Afghan. He does't care about ladies in the audience or kids at home. I wonder if there is an uncensored version out there. That would be a collectable item. hehe

You are right that most in media these days are bias. And certainly, the way Iftikhar behaved was pathetic. I always thought that this guy 'Iftikhar' has some guts and intelligence, but it seems he has guts and his intelligence also lives in his guts. :)
I just saw this program … and it was funny but something came on public that would make people think too (I hope) :).
Actually, few months ago a friend of mine asked me the situation and all hype behind CJ episode. One thing that I told him was that to think a bit and there is a lot of answer there. Then I told him that to imagine what an average lawyer earns in Pakistan. What I know, most Pakistani lawyers (and I know many) hardly survive on their day to day earning. Many of them were on the road during CJ drama. Actually if one find last month National Geography one would see picture of few Lawyers emotionally charged doing vandalism on road. One have to look at their clothing and shoes in picture, and one could easily judge their financial standing.
Thus, I told my friend that it is obvious that someone must be financing their bhangra on road, living without working (when only few Pakistani lawyers can afford to survive without working for even a month), spending many thousands on travelling, and other expenses related to this CJ drama. Only difference was that, I told my friend that most likely they are financed in big way by BB, NS, and other Pakistani corrupts. Along with financing lawyers, these corrupts have also financed media and made media coverage totally and bluntly biased (that financing the media is still going on).
Now Kasuri, a straight forward man openly started accusing lawyers behind CJ drama and pointed his finger on ‘the Chief A-hole Lawyer Munir Malik’ too. Present in the forum on TV debate, Munir Malik start defending himself. But I believe, the way Iftikhar and Hamid Mir reacted, especially Iftikhar, it seems that they were also embarrassed about that accusation, as they also knew that they themselves have received a lot from corrupts during CJ drama.
Nevertheless, I think Kasuri became too blunt, but that is fine, as sometime to expose these people one has to become blunt. Only problem was that Kasuri became tactless blunt. He should have used intelligence, and in polite way he should have exposed these lawyers in public.
As for Kasuri, he accused that finances was coming from foreign sources, though I believe that huge finances came from past and few present corrupts.
*Sher Afghan argument on constitution: *
As for Sher Afghan argument with Iftikhar, it was ridiculous too. Sher Afghan was right though he was wrong the way he tried to argue. Iftikhar was wrong but probably he kept arguing because he could not understand what Sher Afghan was saying. Sher Afghan was right because 1973 constitution does not exists today. There were 7 amendments by Bhutto in that constitution. 2 happened during Zia time and 4 during BB and NS time. Thus, in 1999 when President Musharraf took over, it was not '1973 book of Constitution' but '1999 book of Constitution' (16th Amendment by NS parliament happened in 1999).
Sher Afghan could have given example that suppose a book by name ‘Constitution’ was written in 1973. Then, though name of the book ‘Constitution’ stays same, during the course of time new publication kept coming with many changes in that book. Last new publication of that book ‘Constitution’ with lots of changes came in 2003. Than certainly only an idiot would call that '2003 book of Constitution' as '1973 book of Constitution'.
For instance, if anyone says to me that he/she only accepts '1973 Constitution' than I would presume that he does not accept any later changes to that constitution, and that includes many things. Actually when Qazi (JI) says that he only accepts 1973 constitution, he being mentally incapable does not realise what he is saying, as of he says that, he is saying that he does not believe and accept all later constitutional changes, that includes:
Sunday replaced by Friday as weekly rest day
Change of name ‘Pakistan’ to ‘Islamic republic of Pakistan’
Endorsement of religion column in Passport
Declaration of ‘Qadiyani’ as minority
Alcohol banned for Muslims in Pakistan.
Hudud ordinance
And many more that Qazi would hate to see not in constitution.
Hence, either call present constitution as '2003 constitution' (that is when last amendment happened … Dec 2003), or call it '1973 constitution' with all later amendments as invalid. I think that Sher Afghan was completely right to say that '1973 constitution' does not exist, and Iftikhar arguments were baseless. I believe that if Sher Afghan had argued with some intelligence than Iftikhar could have understood (hopefully :)).
Re: The Great Debate
^ Good points!
I personally want a three tier [or 4 with media?] presidential system..

Thanks for exposing yourself buddy...
My direct relative came with CJ procession when all the rallies were going on... and he told that all the CNG stations were giving free filling of the gas when they came to know that we are part of the rally... They stopped at like 5 - 6 CNG station...
Thats very impressive that somebody can subsidize this much and at this level... i wish they can continue to subsidize so that the some very few 95% of the poor public can also get some basic necessities of life which our govt. is not looking forward to provide...
Btw do search on who funded the Pakistan movement.. and i m sure you will find some external "mulk dushman anasir" in that movement also... May be we blindly give so much credit to Quaid-e-Azam, otherwise what an average muslim earned at that time when they were far far off in education and business...
and then keep back tracking, i m sure you will find a lot more
thanks once again for exposing yourself..
Re: The Great Debate
crap .......
Its was not a debate it was a another try by GEO to score points. Hosts of the so called debate (specially Iftekhar Guy) should take a look at the political debates conducted in other countries including US, Canada etc (who they are actually trying to mimic ). HOST never jump into the political debates and let the candidates (or attendants) talk and then let PEOPLE decide who is wrong and who is right. HOST of this debate (once again specially IFTEKHAR GUY) was trying HARD to prove GOVT speakers WRONG with his loaded arguments.
Re: The Great Debate
What an A-Hole! This Kasuri is a loose cannon just like Wasi Zafar and Sher Afghan. He does't care about ladies in the audience or kids at home. I wonder if there is an uncensored version out there. That would be a collectable item. hehe
Only Geo has the uncensored version and I'm sure they have no intention of leaking it, which could have easily been done by now through the internet to further damage the govt/Kasuri image, YET, it hasn't happened and that pops another question:
Did Kasuri really say something as bad as the beeps made us feel, or were the beeps emphasized and stretched to make us feel he said somethings very very taboo...!?
Our minds are tuned to believe that whenever there's a beep it means an unacceptable word/phrase understood to be unacceptable or non airing-worthy, as per generally accepted standards on intensity or code of conduct, has been said. However, Pakistani (electronic) media is usually totally free from or oblivious of any codes of conduct, norms or standards and also defies all authority on any issues concerned with this. I myself have even seen programs on Pakistani Pvt channels beep-censor names of brands, sponsors, personalities, other channels, networks or rival personalities, brands, networks, channels and so on.
I'm not sure if Geo is ready to reveal anything that might hit back. Already the SC took notice of the two gems of journalists Iftikhar and Hamid. Plus all the hustle bustle is about the 'allegations' Ahmed Raza Kasuri fired against the others, no one has rephrased or described what else he said. Even Nusrat Javed and Mushatq Minhas on Aaj asked Mr Kasuri on phone last night if there were such curses and Hamid even re-invited Kasuri to Capital Talk last night and he was there.

Re: The Great Debate

Re: The Great Debate
^ Pro-dictator would certainly love this ******* Kasuri and blame lawyer who had a terrific victory against a dark rule in Pakistan.. This loser Kasuri minted crores from tax payers money and is such a besharam that he is actually acusing the most honest and worthu who fought by CJ for free..
Re: The Great Debate
According to EC there are over 27 candidates contending for presidency, and we already know who is going to win the election...so the question why are we even having this pointless exercise?
Anyways, here is my solution. I think we should have debate like we have here in the US. All of the candidates should be invited to have open and free debate on all issues including Mushrraf.
At end of the debate all them should be given a pistol with one bullet in it, and be asked to shoot the candidate they hate the most. Survivors will move to next round. In next round all of them should be put on an airplane and dropped without parachute from 10000 feet. And, final survivor(s) will become a president for life. If no one survives it will be a win win for the country, and if someone survives he/she deserves the presidency. :D
Re: The Great Debate
Good post Shamraz.
Honestly speaking this was the debate between the Governement team and the geo guys.
Re: The Great Debate
^And that exactly proves the point abt the Geo guys being ______ team.
Re: The Great Debate
I hope you realize that in this entire exercise (which btw i highly endorse too :D) including the debate and the action that will follow, only 1 man is fit and highly likely to survive and win. ![]()
Yes! The valiant commando PA6920 Pervez Musharraf Gen Pres! ![]()
An excellent speaker, an excellent people person, and excellent debater, an excellent diplomat, an excellent tactician & strategist and now politician, a soldier, a combat arm gunner/artillery officer, a commando trained in extreme survival, experienced in jumping from planes as well as facing nearing death in planes when PMs dont allow landing, being accustomed to explosions both at war, training and by suicide bombers. ![]()
Re: The Great Debate
haha I’m glad we agree on something. If he survives 10000 feet drop & duel match with jihadi presidential co-contenders I will endorse his presidency too. ![]()
Re: The Great Debate
Respect man…how many other president’s in the world can boast of such claims…besides maybe Putin and AhmedNijad..then again, says a lot about the democracy thing we’ve got going here. doesn’t it?

You forgot to mention Fidel Castro......
Our own Mush may eventually break his world record of staying in power due to all the qualities mentioned by HZ>>>
Imagine Pakistan at last holder of some kind of world record....
It's is another matter we'll all end up driving 1968 model cars...
