Re: The great Bill Moyer - this week’s interview
In a just world the racist policies of Confederate states denying blacks medicaid.and other ESSENTIAL benefits would be overturned without debate. Some things - there r no 2 sides.

Survey of 97000 public schools showed race is determining factor for receiving good math and science education. Blacks get taught by teachers with less experience and pay.
Segregated neighborhoods.not just in deep south but in Chicago and New York determined the destiny of black children. And they continue to pay the price.
Re: The great Bill Moyer - this week’s interview
As stated in post 17 this week’s bill Moyers guest TA nihisi posed this question why do we keep doing that.
Social security was originally denied to those who worked as house help and cotton pickers. Decades later it was changed. Did that level the playing field? Of course not. First the blacks who were denied certainly wound t think so. Second their descendants also may not think so.
Medicaid - the red states preventing medicaid expansion and hurting the blacks. And those who argue - don’t worry it will be fixed.
Hence the question. Why do we keep doing so?
