What’s the obsession with white skin? Golden skin is niuce but anything paler is horrid, I’d rather have a nice brown anyday and I’m sorry but the majoirty of Punjabis, Sindhis and Mohajirs are mostly like north Indians, the only exception are the Kashmiris who are usally light skinned on both sides.
Real life Pakis are not as fair as the drama and film people but whio cares they’re still hot.
Pathans and Balochis are whiter but they don’t usally idenitfy with Pakistan themselves.
None of the light skinned kids up there is cute, the only one remotely cute is the dark one on the left and the girl on the extreme right.

i had typed a very nice post in response to post # 36. but it disappeared when i clicked "submit". it would have nicely answered pinny's objections which are stemming out of some severe inferiority complex as to why pakistanis are good looking and indians not inspite of staying for years together. im gonna try again from home.

^^ Thanks for understanding the ulterior motive dadaa jee. i was wondering if anybody was able to guess. in my opnion, this was started ACTUALLY to start some inter-regional arguments / fights and demoralising people from different parts of pakistan. he thought that by the 14th of August, all of us would be busy swearing and cursing and calling each other names for belonging to another region of pakisan. if you ask me, this was the entire purpose of this thread.
the guy is very careful to post now so his intentions are not very clear to most. i know that before his attacks used to be staright forward but still people used to fall prey and act and behave exactly as he would expect. now hhe has become very precautious but InshaAllah, he and his own nation would fall terribly..... yes TERRIBLY the more he tries to make US fall apart.
you know he is doing what he can for his nation by his words here. creating troubles among us. he is doing his best. it is only him. only him here. think of all those people spread around the world doing the same in different ways to our people. think of all those stupid pakistanis who are confused. i have seen so many of them. they fall prey. this is what has been happening until now. pakistanis do not understand their manipulative ways. this is in all walks of life. And many more (which I'd try to elaborate at some other time) stories were taken from those bollywood flicks which you loved to watch as kids. Not only adopted by the indian media itself but also sold some to FBI and CIA. ONLY to isolate muslims MORE SPECIFICALLY PAKISTANIS from the rest of the world. They have been successful until now as can be seen from the circumstances prevailing now. Would you allow them to continue this? No no, you will have to fight them with the same techniques which they use. Not losing your head and kicking their @ss (oh yeah im guilty of so much wanting to do that). But by making them taste their own sweet poison. Now, I hope you know what I mean.

you still haven’t answered my question about your entertainment industry. Like I said before, ofcourse those kids in banner don’t represent the majority of the country, but does your tv and cinema stars represent the “true” india. You might say people in media are better looking than average indians because of the industry they work in. Valid argument, but how come the amount of people with fair skin in your entertainment industry vastly dis-proportionate with the amount of black skinned and fair skinned people in your country. Sure one or two stars in your country are dark skinned, but don’t tell me that MAJORITY of stars skin color represent the majority of india. Is it just a coincidence that majority of the actors and actresses in your country are more fair skinned than the average indian. “white is beautiful” theory is prevalent in BOTH india and pakistan. No one is denying that. In fact looking at some of your movie stars, I could make the same assumption about hindus that you’ve made about muslims. “I would even venture to say that there are certain hindu hierarchical insinuations involved as well.” looking at some of the hindu movie stars in india. I used your quote above just replacing muslim with hindu.
And to answer your question about finding it weird to visit Gupshup and see white looking kids in the banner is concerned, yes, sure it is weird. For Americans who are used to seeing brown skinned pakistanis that is. But for a indian like you is concerned, no it should not be weird. Unless you want me to not find hrithik roshan with his white skin and green color eyes weird. We all know that he represents the “true” indian males. sarcasm off
And please stop telling us to google what pakis look like. It makes you look silly. I just need to walk down lahore and karachi to figure out if we have white skinned people in our country. Now are they the majority, ofcourse not. Hell, they are a very small minority, but they do exist. Especially in the mountains and in NWFP.

uff..amrikan pakistanis do not represent the ethnicities in a proportionate manner…take for eg, very few urdu-speaking pakistanis head for australia, compared to other ethnicities, so if ppl there start makng assumptions abt pakistanis based on immgrants in australia it wud be quite sad.
besides this pic is just amateur street photography by some touristy burger kid…its easier to tell poor kids runnig around on streets without parents to stand together, than it is to tell regular kids playing in parks with parents…same way an amateur photogrpaher is not going to undertake the hassle of photogrphing school-going kids, besides then it wont be ‘street’ photography anymore.
as for representing pakistan and stuff, it falls into the category of those cultural photos u have of balochis and sindhis and punjabis wearing traditional costumes, and representing pakistan…any of those photos could be put up there, and it wud be so dumb to turn around n say, u better not have only a photo of sindhis on a banner of pakistan, just becoz they r a minierotry…see these kids rnt just minorty, they r a proper ethnictiy in pakistan, which own approximately half the land area of pakistan and two whole provinces…minorty argument cant be restricted to population alone.

exactly. Those kids in the banner might be a minority, but to say that they don’t represent “true” pakistanis is idiotic. Tiger woods is the face of golf around the world. PGA, nike and other companies market golf around this ONE guy who doesn’t look like anyone else in PGA tour. (well, there are couple of dark skinned golfers but they are a miniscule minority.) The point is, often times the people representing a country, sport, or entertainment industry doesn’t necessarily have to be in the majority.

of course indian show-biz has a greater proportion of light-skinned people. it is no secret that desis of all kinds view light skin as better. the more accurate parallel is the pakistani film/drama industry. those people along with bollywood people all clearly look like desis. the banner issue is slightly different. pakistanis seem to add an additional dimension to the concept of beauty…and that is to not look pakistani at all…to shed their desi-ness.
all i’m saying is that anybody’s first reaction to looking at those kids is that they’re irish, russian, etc…nobody on earth would guess pakistani. do you disagree?
