I think it depends on where you are from. A lot of Urdu speaking people give everything for both functions (Barat and Walima) - the clothes, shoes, jewellery, etc. From what I noticed, people from Punjab do things differently. The larki walay are responsible for everything for the Barat and the larkay walay are responsible for everything for the Walima.
