The God has no religion

Gandhi said that God has no religion. Why do you disagree?

Re: The God has no religion

I don't ... religion is for the slave not the Master

Re: The God has no religion

God has no religion, but God has chosen a particular religion for human-beings as per different faiths.

As per Islamic belief, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam.

Surat 'Ali `Imran [3:19] - The Noble Qur’an - ??? ???

Re: The God has no religion

So, if the God has no religion it is safe to assume that he has no preference for a particular religion, would it not?

Re: The God has no religion

The Qur'an that came from God ... specifically says ...

"... This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion ..." Surah 5 verse 3.

It is not safe to assume anything ... especially not about God.

Re: The God has no religion

RELIGION

the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods

the belief in a god or in a group of godsan organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or a group of gods

I wonder if God believes in any god :stuck_out_tongue:

Gandhi said many things that sound good, but if you think about them, they mean nothing.

Re: The God has no religion

You can take same theological argument and expand it to other religions & the people will say that their way is the right way. How do you convince some that your beliefs are right and theirs aren’t? For example, take Christianity.

What Does the Bible Say About Getting Into Heaven?

Re: The God has no religion

Well, Gandhi was a philosopher and politician, but not a theologian. So,his arguments have good philosophical values, but when you combined philosophy and theology it gets big complicated.

Re: The God has no religion

Go on then … What religion is endorsed in the Bible?

Re: The God has no religion

if god existed, he'd probably be buddhist or pagan.

Re: The God has no religion

The God.....is not proper English I think.

"The" is not used with God.

We don't write

The God said...

The God made......

Some may think it is Ok to write.... He is the God who is merciful. But again some may say He is God who is merciful.

Correct me if I am wrong....

Re: The God has no religion

On the topic:

There is nothing special Gandhi said.

It is like saying:

White has no black.

OR

Black has no White.

So? What's the point there?

Re: The God has no religion

^ The point Ghandi was trying to make is one of sophistical (fallacious reasoning constructed to sound wise and true) nature. He was attempting to suggest that since God has no religion and all people belong to God we should realise that everyone is equal in the sight of God.

Although we also believe these things they all have very different implications. We do indeed assert that God has preferred Islam. Logically there is no connection between What God does and what we do ... so our belief is whatever God wants from us we do ... that is Islam. What Ghandi and the OP here think is that Islam is the religion of Muslims that is inherited and not a condition or state of being in a relation with God. Our belief is about the natural way - so we assert that worship of God for example is natural - to do otherwise is unnatural. So a person may be Muslim without knowing it - but when he/she comes across Islamic doctrine they will not find it difficult to submit and take Shahadah as they were already in that state of Islam. Islam is not a club there are reflections of silm (submission) in every dogma around the world - the word Islam - has the meaning of bringing all acts of silm together under one umbrella.

And it is true - some laws adopted in the West such as with social security is an Islamic idea. The rules of war is an Islamic idea. The rights of women and orphans - Islamic idea ... It does not even have to originate in our scriptures to be an Islamic idea ... because we believe that Islam has been present since Adam (AS) and morality in its optimal form will be Islamic - that it will be in total submission to the Will of God. Islam as we know it - through the teachings of Sayyiduna Muhammad (SAW) is not new ... it is a fully contextualised system of all the wisdoms of the past and some new ones too and there are some encoded in our teachings that we are yet to properly understand or discover ... because our teachings are living and breathing with us and become more applicable with time and as our understanding of nature in the scientific sense increases.

Re: The God has no religion

Yes, He Believes in Himself.

"Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. (20:14)

Re: The God has no religion

.
What is "Religion" ?
The basic concept of 'Religion" is based on "The Worship (Ibadat)" of the "Creator" !
So there is no need of religion for the "Creator" Himself (Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala) !
