The genocide of Hindus in Pakistan

Re: The genocide of Hindus in Pakistan

StirCrasy: Use some intelligence. If population of Hindus (post-Partition) was 15 percent than it could not have reduced to 2 percent, could it? Especially when migration stopped and obviously Pakistan has not seen any genocide of Hindus. But than I have to say that this 15 percent and 2 percent figures are both right :)

The secret behind this is that after Partition, Hindus in West Pakistan was around 2 percent (Muslim population was 97 percent and amongst rest, around 2 percent were Hindus) but population of Hindus in East Pakistan was 24 percent (Muslim population was 76 percent and most of rest were Hindus). Population of East Pakistan was 20 percent more than West Pakistan. For instance, when population of Pakistan was 100 million, population of East Pakistan was 54 million and population of West Pakistan was 46 million. Hence Hindu population was:

24 percent of 54 million was around 13 million.
2 percent of 44 million was around 1 million
That means total population of Hindus in Pakistan was around 14 million or 14 perecent of Pakistan population (above article approximated it to 15 percent). Overall Muslim population of Pakistan (East and West) was around 85 percent.

After East Pakistan becoming Bangla-Desh, many Hindus from BD migrated to India and today BD population is more than 76 percent Muslim, still there is large Hindu population in BD.
