Fable 2 is just called Fable 2. Lost Chapters was just Fable with some added content. Fable 2 is different from the first Fable in many ways. The most notable ones being that in Fable 2 you can play as a male or a female character, you can buy any building or business in the game, you have a dog who helps you treasure hunt, find secrets and even helps you out in battle. Another feature not found in the first Fable is that you can also have one of your online buddies join your game as a henchman. Your character can also have kids and there’s more than just good/evil alignments.

Re: The gaming stigma
Tough medic. You try to be a disc priest aiming for season 3. That is no fun.
I have been gaming since I was 7. Nintendo was my first console. Went to the Sega and the the PC. Never went back from the PC. That is also because I am D&D geek. So I started off with Baldur's Gate and the rest of the Bioware/Black Isle games. Then went on to KOTOR. Oh yeah medic you see the new KOTOR MMORPG? Now I certainly don't hope they mess it up like the did with Galaxies.
Also my case is a little different. I run a 80 to 100 man RP-PVP guild in Warcraft. Other than being an the GM I am role-player so I got other "stuff" I am involved in on the Server. World PVP campaigns a la D&D etc.
Oh yeah never played City of Heroes. The PVP was not ruthless enough for my tastes. I prefer the ability to kill anybody at anytime for any reason, including that I don't like his shoes. WoW isn't that great, but the city raids have an epic feeling. I seriously need to try War though. Heard some brilliant things.
Re: The gaming stigma
dude, unless your wife is gonna join in with the role playing and join your guild etc, i don't see it working out. that is some dedicated stuff. most of the guys i know/knew like that either had gf's that were into this stuff as much as they were, or the relationships didn't work out.
diablo2 and NWN were as much as i delved into blackisle/bioware. i recently tried to play BG2 but we weren't getting on.
Re: The gaming stigma
u remind me of my lovely teenager cousin whenever her mother gives her grief about watching tv she likes to add i will see how ur future family will put up with it and hogwash. however my cousin has it sorted out according to her it will be a condition in her nikhanama that she gets the remote control or else she is walking.infact she is going to make sure this is brought up in her future rishta . lol you gotta love cheeky bratty sissies they are cute!
Re: The gaming stigma
I wasn't into it until one day when my husband was "working" from home and I was home due to a snow day. I asked him what he was playing (it was CoH). From that moment on, I was hooked. I NEVER thought this would be my sort of thing, but you never know. Hubby plays it more than I do, but it's still more of a passtime than an obsession. I think if he started taking it seriously, I'd be weirded out.
CoH certainly isn't ruthless, but it's a ton of fun.
Re: The gaming stigma
i LOVE online games... when i had bubz and had to wake up in the middle of the night for the feeds. i would take it as an opportunity to play online games :) i was addicted...
then came Wii... aaaah tennis. I love tennis.. unfortunately than came full-time work.. sheesh
to the actual topic, i know lots of guys in their late 20s and early 30's who still play games.. (all being paki/indian too)
Re: The gaming stigma
ppl need to check stats and demographics of who is playing games.
not sure where thsi nonsense comes that once u are aboe teens u dont play videogames.
and i dont think its important that the spouse be into it. heck begum was all over tomb raider and I have never bothered. why take it different than any other hobby? do ppl get concerned about guys who play tennis ..and ask them tog ive it up after wedding or marry someone who also likes tennis.
Re: The gaming stigma
Both of us like playing games. All time favorite for both was crash bandicoot.
My mom kicked me almost ouf of the house when I bought the WII ![]()
I used to game alot back in the old days, played in various clans. I dont have time these days and when I do have time its not more then 30-40 minutes ![]()
Currently Farcry 2 and thats about it I guess. But yes my parents dont want me to game either because it s for ‘kids’
Oh well, its the desi culture. And thats something which cant be changed easily ![]()
Re: The gaming stigma
We gave BIL and SIL a Wii as their wedding present. :D
Re: The gaming stigma
Well I have a good officer cadre so they run the show when I am not around. But I agree that it can cause problems. Been in the same guild for what 4 years now. During that time seen 2 friends have their marriage disintegrate while they played Warcraft. I would prefer a gamer wife, and since there are some female desi gamers, i will hold out hope.
If not, they know I hang up my leadership role the day I get married. Confused a few of them since they know I am single grin That of course started a 4 hour conversation over vent regarding arranged marriages and the like.
