Why did you assume that everyone who will view this will reply as well? It's not Cafe, lady. :-P

Anyway, isn't Ericsson into wireless stuff? That's where the market is going. The cell phone market might get saturated in a few years but I am sure we are heading towards wireless in every other way. So, they can build on their technology if they have a vision on what's the next thing the consumers want getting wireless. For example, the networks are probably going to go wireless on a large scale pretty soon. So, just like you can use your phone anywhere in the country, soon you will be able to use your internet ISP through your laptop anywhere as well.

lol,AD thanx mate.
um,its not on what they could do,its what they are doing,is the future bright for ericsson or not?

ok,fine,im stupid.

i recently bought a new ericsson mobile phone, so definitely their future is bright

i have an ericssion phone and it kicks a$$ :D

personally i think nokia is the best & easiest to use.

Nope, not so bright, They spent a lot of money developing Bluetooth wireless, but it s just not braking thru. Besides that, the telecom division isnt going pretty well either.

Yes they r making profit, but the total netto income has decreased in the last 2 years mostly because of Nokia and now because Samsung and Siemens who are developping new phones with a life cicle of a few months :)

So They will hang on for a verry long time, also because 3e world countries arent discovered fully yet. There s a huge martket there aswell.
But I do believe that at one moment Erricsson wil have to improvise cuz the telecom markt will be saturated at one moment in time.
Besides that they will also have to spend more money on R&D (research and development) to keep up with the opponenents.

But I do think that in the next 5 years atleast Erricsson will survive :)

folks, cell phones is not the biggest of their lot, its a smaller chunk of their revenue. they make bigger bucks in telecom switches but that has been in trouble for a while.

also, SonyEricsson is a joint venture as the name suggests so even if the phone is big hit (which its not) Ericsson does not runaway with all the prizemoney.

^^

Exactly.

Ericsson are also major players in the electronic warfare industry. They make the electronics found in a broad range of the latest European weaponry.

Ericsson is a leading producer of radar and command and control systems for air defence applications. With a product range which also includes weapons locating systems and tactical, highly jamming-resistant communications systems, Ericsson's comprehensive array of products and systems have won great international acclaim.

Their main areas of activity are sensors, communications and electronic warfare. They design, develop and manufacture advanced defense electronics for army, navy and airforce applications. The production comprises ground-based, naval and airborne surveillance systems, combat aircraft avionics, fire control systems for air defense, weapons locating systems, and tactical telecommunications systems.

oh,just thought id tell you guys,my presentation was superb...i found out later that it was more about how u present it rather than the info u present & i just destroyed it,i mean...my oozing confidence, style & selection of words was just brilliant...mainly i talked about bluetooth(alot of research & i just copied maddys last reply in my speech's ending:D)

thanku guys:)

I dont think they sell Ericson cells in Canada, that is a random fact you can mention in your report

For as long as every man has an Ericsson, playboy stays in business.

Punjabi Kuri and others

in any of the research did you find any discussion on the followiwing subjects

blue tooth vs. 802.11
industry trends, safety issues
convergence of technologies. e.g. with consumer electronics, medical systems etc.

If you did can u tell me some good sources?

Thanks
