I understand you to be ridiculing the fact that it’s an anonymous internet fatwa, followed by disapproval that people are in fact mocking this anonymous internet fatwa. I know I’m missing something here.

I won’t comment on the dogged preoccupation with homosexuality-condoning Muslims.

Actually both comments apply to the personality type of persons who find such stuff realistic and use it to mock Islam. Yet at the same time consider it freedom of expression when a Pastor burns the Quran. As for the homosexuality comment it is by far the best way to mess with the “modern liberal western educated Muslims”. The fact that you have picked up on it is an example of this.

Agreed, it’s not the West. We have an internal crisis created and perpetuated by us, not the Evil White Man From Amreeka. And I’ve found that generally, Pakistanis living in Pakistan understand this better than expats who are too busy defending their faith against Western prejudices to be able to introspect and constructively critique their own dirty laundry.

Such a tease. Why the passive aggression? Just name the “enemies of Islam” on this thread so justice can be meted out.

I’ll offer my head preemptively.

Its an internal crisis for those who can not reconcile the faith with their western educated backgrounds. And more importantly the Pakistanis living in Pakistan understand this better are specifically the 1% elite who get a western liberal education. The common man on the street will pick the faith over western values any time of the day. They don’t have any confusion on what they stand for and what the faith stands for. Its 1% educated abroad who have no connection with the average person who are introspective and critical. But then again that is more existential angst than intellectual discourse.

The enemies of Islam are simple. Those who use faith to hurl abuse at others and those who insult the faith due to personal emotional issues.
