Thats so sweet, sounds like something my dad would do.
I can't remember the first dish I made but I started cooking around 7/8. First I had small jobs like cleaning the inside of the chickens, peeling potatoes and chopping veg then slowly my mom left more and more of the preperation and cooking to me untill I could cook the whole dish alone.
I do remember when I was 10 picking blackberries in the local park then me and my brother made a pie but I put too much salt in the pastry so it was horrible.
