Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

He is British. He started his business in England in 60s - is British naitonal.
I think he first started his Bestway cement business in Pakistan in mid-90s..
so technically, not considered to be a Pakistani....

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

That goes without saying. :)

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

cool cool

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

well technically, he hasnt surrendered his Pakistani nationality. moving to britain is one of the step he might have taken.

me and him have same nationalities both are born in Pakistan. i would never ever like to branded as only british and not Pakistani.

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

He's a BP. Not sure if he counts as Pakistani. Mad rich though.

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

Man, how can you be so racist?

I was born in Britain, moved to Pakistan when I was two and half and came back to Britain when I was eleven.

You probably think Mujay Urdu Nahi Aaati Tay Nahi Minu Punjabi Avandi Hai, and as a result in your pathetic opinion many of us like me are no longer Pakistanis.

YOUR A SCUM BAG.

Man, if you said something like that to my face, i’ll kick your head off and rip your flippin ears off.

:o :grumpy:  :o :grumpy:  :o :grumpy:

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

haha slight over reaction there dont u think
he prob has dual nationality like most of us do

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

Pakistani Dragon,

Please relax - and plz avoid using the language that you’re using.

Well, i really didn’t mean what you’re thinking. I was only saying that he is considered to be British in papers and in these rich people lists… Bestway Group is considered to be a Britsh Company… a company that has a couple of its divisions in Pakistan.
I might know him a lot more than you do - i would never say anything negative about him

we all are surely proud of him. he started his business from scratch and took it to the top level. He has done a lot of investment in Pakistan - not only in cement industry but also in rice too.
His social work achievements are great - not a lot of people know because he doesn’t publicize it but he has spent a lot of money in this area…
a very humble & a great gentleman :k:

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

Mittal is top of list in Britain, He is based in UK, but still many think he is Indian billionare.

Yet Agha Khan another Pakistani British is worth more than sir anwar pervaiz is at 50th place

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

the aga khan aint pakistani from anywhere

theyre persians with alot of european mixes in them

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

the current aga khans mom was english and his father was half persian half italian.

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

^^^ I dont know the details, all i know Agha Khan II or III was very active in Pakistan movement and creation of Pakistan. If his ancestors were from persia. many turks, afghans, arabs, indians were ancestors of many Present day Pakistanis.
The largest ismaili population live in Pakistan until present time. (in Kalash Area of Chitral)

here is the link, Aga Khan III was born in Karachi!
http://www.storyofpakistan.com/person.asp?perid=P004

The present Aga Khan’s father Aly Khan was appointed Pakistan’s permanent ambassador to the United Nations.

He owns 51% controlling shares in Largest Bank in Pakistan Habib Bank .

so you still call him not a Pakistani at all? when he represented Pakistan at UN?

Re: The first (legitimate) pakistani billionaire?

  1. AK3 He was born in Karachi but his PARENTS , not ancestors, were both persians from persia. both from the persian royal family. that makes him a persian. (not pakistani)
  2. The current aga khan is like only a quarter persian and 3 quarters european (not pakistani)
  3. so what if he holds shares in habib bank. He also owns hundreds of companies all over the world in france italy africa etc etc. That doesnt make him a citizen of each country.
  4. True, prince aly khan represented pakistan at the UN and ak3 was one of the most instrumental figures in bringing about the creation of pakistan... but that is mainly because they have a long history of service to muslim people and were trying to help out mostly... they wouldnt say that they are 'pakistani'
