I was unemployed for about 1 year. And let me tell you, its really discouraging, when you are educated, and have work experience in your field. for a while, I had a lot of interviews, but just wasnt getting the
jobs. Then the interveiws dried up, and nothing for months! That was the most heart breaking…cause I knew I was qualified for all those jobs. The only advice you can give them is to hold on,
and keep trying. Dont give up, cause something is out there for them. Finally after a year of being unemployed, I had 2 interviews in one week, and got offered BOTH positions! and both positions were equally
AMAZING! so then I was in another dilemma!

Anyway, just tell them to be strong, and keep applying for jobs. This is one of the worst recessions since the great depression, and a lot of people are out of work. Dont give up, and something will evenutlaly come
along. Also, they should take advantage of this time off, and do something they have been putting off - like going back to school, taking some upgrading courses, taking some leisure courses (I started taking
cake decorating classes), or travel. Best of luck to them all!

that must have felt so incredible for you, i know i would be on top of the world being offered both jobs and the hardest part is to pick which one.
