I wasnt there at the time but I am hearing from a lot of people that Pakistanis today are coming together with great resilience, high emotions and positve nationalism just like they did in 1965, and that the same vibe can be felt all over again.
So if you dont know what I am talking about I would seriously suggest that you guys who better get in the program.
sometimes even the little things count
Emails, SMS, phone calls, donation rallys, cook outs, garage/yard sales, blood drives, car washes, sacrifice those eid shoppings, design wallpapers, write-up fliers, get those chain letters going with words of encouragement positive reinforcements.
its now or never
for the people of this generation i.e. who ever came after 1965, i guess this would be the first time that your nation, your mother land is calling out to you - so dont let her down now because you may never get a second chance to do something for her.

Indeed. Indeed. Thanks for reminding. I am doing as much as I can do from my limited resources. But rest assure, I will do as much as I have been blessed by ALLAH:swt: I will urge N.American guppies to donate whereever they can. One good place I can recommend is definitely ICNA.
Another example supporting it is about a Baba ji who lost his son in margalla towers but after Janaza, he started helping in rescue efforts at the site rather than sulking on the loss. Incredible!!
I agree. Sitting away from Pakistan makes me desperate, i wish i could do something for the victims, though i am not very far from Pakistan. But there are many reasons i cant join the rescue team. my family members are trying to take food and blankets to kashmir on their own.. Wish i could join them
Indeed...
From the stories we hear of 1965, it seems our nation has united again after 40 years.
Whats amazing is that the generation today is also taking it perhaps even more serious than those in 1965...long live Pakistan!
even if you don't know someone personally, and know that they have been affected and have a way of contacting them, send them words of support.... People in the affected areas are resentful of the govt and the last thing we need is a political crisis of sorts in the country.. I bet the negative- propaganda machinery is already working in kashmir.. so go out and do your work
If you are a working professional you may donate your services to the cause and/or if you are far away you may ask your organization to make a donation out of its profits to the releif efforts in Pakistan.
If you are a student in a college or a university you may start up a Earthquake Task Force with the help of your student organizations or maybe even the Student Senate/Student Government Body. Come up with the goals & objectives in accordance with your physical location, your variables and your constraints.
If you are a houswife you can get things going on a real domestic level by contacting other women in the community you are living in. Find out what others are doing, find out whats the best thing you can do to support from where you are - is it non perishable goods, is it a cash donatinon or maybe something else.
the children do not have to feel left behind - you can surely spare your pocket money or even the eidee you may get this Eid. Just think of all those children who wont get any eidee this eid.
My Grandma used tot ell us stories about how everybody came together during the 1965 war, and all these efforts reminded me so much of her stories.
Even in those stories most of the stuff was being done by civilians, even food to teh soldiers was being brought in by people around those areas. And even today with so much aid pouring into Pakistan, it is still te civilian volunteers doing everything they can to help the survivors.
