its like this intense deep rooted fear in my soul that i have against COCKROACHES
i mean seriously the sight of a cockroach paralyzes my senses
and the sight of a flying cockroach gives me heart attacks
right now there’s this room that i have to go into to get something important and there’s a cockroach there…no one’s at home but me…but i can’t go in…
i know the cockroach is one thousandth my size and i know they don’t even bite
but like…
i just can’t even enter the room coz i’m so scared of it
is this some medical condition? i really need to overcome this fear so i dont face situations like the one i am in rite now
but HOW?
i read all kinds of duas and i brace myself and then i walk closer and then as soon as the creature moves all my resolutions dissolve and i back off with fear
anyone else sufferring from this and anyone got any cure for this cockroach phobia?
Luckily, my family in Karachi moved from cockroach-prone flats to cockroach-free houses. Last time I found myself in Karachi in the same room as a cockroach was 1996.
I'll normally freeze, shudder, run out of the room, close the door, and wait for it to go away or ask someone else to kill it.
I remember the time when I was sitting on the toilet at home in Karachi, when I noticed two BIG cockroach antennae popping up through the drain in the floor and I just knew a big roach was coming through. My brain dumped a ton of adrenaline into my systems, and I just literally, on instinct, slammed the lota down onto the floor to wash it away.
Luckily I was sitting on the right place to deal with a phobia attack.....

aisa main tab karta hoon..jab mera khoon kharabay ka mood nahin hota. jab main ghussay main hota hoon to bathroom slippers utha kar zannate ke saath us par maarta hoon. Thak! ke suhaani awaaz ke saath he us ka game over!
PS: Baarish ke dinon main pehle hamare ghar ke aik bathroom ke neechay thori se jaga thi..us ke neechay se chunnay chunnay maindak aa jaate thay (i hate them..when they jump..my heart sinks ) phir main un ko muggon aur dustbin ke azmooda murakkab ki madad se pakar pakar kar ghar ke bahar baizzat tareekay se ba-nafs-e-nafees chor chor kar aata tha.

Stop being such a drama queen. Take a chappal and pataakh kar ke maaro and before you know it, it’s abdominal stuff is on the wall. Then take a paper towel, thora sa geela kar ke saaf kardo. Viola.

Zakk hey thanks for dropping by the thread. You’re right about egg shells. They work for lizards too. We got fumigation done and this special totka my mom uses as well. Lekin the cockroaches of our area are too DHEET

Ive never seen a cockroach but i have a huge phobia of spiders. If there is one in a room nothing in this world will make me go in there. I cant stand them. They make shake with fear. And I know you shouldnt kill them but when my hubby isnt around to get rid of a spider I have spotted I ill actually kill it …after standing watching it for half an hour trying to get the courage to hit it.
Yes. I have an unhealthy fear of cockroaches. The other day I was also home alone, and I woke up and went to the bathroom and guess what I saw!!!...I saw one in the bathroom!!!! faint
It was my second day of work and I was terrified to go into the bathroom. I knew I had to get in there because my boss would not believe a, "I was late because there was a cockroach in the bathroom" story. So I turned on the shower and drowned da poor thing. I felt bad. And then I took a scooper about 3 feet long and put it in there with a broom, and the rest is history. So thats how I faced my fear. Otherwise I just yell for my mommy and she comes to my rescue. I lub my mommy. blush

nandulala u have never seen a cockroach!!! LUCKY u! acha spiders for me r not that bad…i can deal with spiders…its just cockroaches…
think of it this way…spider ne aik dafa Hz Mohammad saw kee madad kee thee..when he (saw) was hiding in a cave at hijrat from makah to madina a spider buit a web outside the save so when the enemies came n saw the web they thought ok he (saw) couldnt be in that save coz theres a web there and it takes time to make a web so noone could have passed thru the entrance recently…

roaches! theyre my wors enemies and yes i admit, i'm also scared of them...not because i'm scared of them like am of a cobra or an adder but because they are so darned sick and creepy they give one a shiver. But, i have had many mnay encounters and have 'hunted' countless! they are the worlds oldest surviving species that's in its original form and there are over a hundred types ive heard. I make sure i kill whenever i see one, so it won't multiply, and thus i save my fellow human beings from the distress of having to live under fear of invasion from another roach family.
You guys are weird, scared of roaches, they dont do anything except litter the place, I personally hate shrews, they bite like hell.... whenever I see one it goes thwack (that goes for roaches too)
If youre afraid or roaches then try confronting the Black Widow spiders of South Africa. they are abt 4 cm wide (not measuring the legs)

i had the same kinda fear....but of RATS!! not cockroaches, although i do think the flying ones r really creepy but after doing the infamous cockroach disection in college, i dint even remember i was afraid of roaches!! :D and then just last week i had to do a RAT disection in college for my biology class! which was really GROOOOOOSSS but i think im not afraid of rats any more, or may be a dead one doesnt look as scary as a live one obviously !!
