What is Fear? why is our brain able to control this feeling? if it doesnt fear seems to increase so much it can take a toll on one’s mental health. but if over taken , it can change the whole scenario..
Re: The fear element
I have been thinking about this too. I suppose some fears are innate....but many are taught to us. Where do innate fears come from...I assume we know to sense danger, protect ourselves, and be cautious. However, other little things are learned behaviors. For example, when I was younger, I did not know to fear the dark or night....I had no concept of it...but as I got older..something must have happened which led me to being scared of the dark.
Re: The fear element
the fear of the dark is a great example......
someone recently said to me that we love to be afraid. I'm still trying to figure out why.....
Re: The fear element
the 'unknown' element feeds to the fear...the more unknown factors our brains processes, the more we feel fear/scared. there is a fine equilibrium between sanity and insanity due to fear and if this is disturbed then we become so paranoid that our thought process takes over and we start hallucinating. it seems all real and we go into panic mode.
our own brain often becomes our worst enemy.

That is absolutely true! There is not much out there that will scare me but I still love the feeling to being afraid. Whether we admit it or not, we like being afraid. It could be in more covert ways like being afraid in a relationship with someone or being afraid of teachers, parents, or any situation that is intimidating. It is not all ghosts and serial killers that really scare us.
Once you stop being afraid of death, there is hardly anything that will scare you..
Re: The fear element
We r taught in childhood to fear god. And to be good. Else god would punish us. And we live a life of fear. Fear of eternal damnation.
What could be scarier (other than a Misbah foundation)?
They say that we are born only with two fears; fear of falling from heights and the fear of loud noise. Every other fear is aquired through circumstances
Re: The fear element
^Wow! I can confirm this. I am hardly ever afraid of anything but take me anywhere high and I will wet my pants.. I don't get the loud noise part though. That's more like getting startled but not afraid.

By being born with two fears does not mean phobias. It means that we get scared when we are experiencing it. A sudden bomb boom will scare an infant/toddler, as well as a sudden fall. Nothing else will be scary at that age
Re: The fear element
Good point. Never thought of it that way.

Means disbelievers are afraid of possibility of existence of life after death despite they claim they are convinced that there is no God, right?

Where did I say that? And what does this have to do with a Misbah foundation?
Re: The fear element
What about the fear of public speaking? some say that fear is worse than death.

Fear of speaking is worse than death.
OR
Fear of speaking is worse than FEAR of death.

Can be overcome with experience and the realization that ummmwell you're in the situation nd better do your best and not waste peoples time
Re: The fear element
Some people are so unafraid of public speaking they come unprepared. And then the audience has to be fearful.
