Coconut - the movie kicked some major A** !! it was just awesome. The moment the movie was over and ppl were just revving up their engines

Plus the cool thing was that it was raining and we were screeching the tires a lot. After watching the movie u just feel like racing !

that's what movies create, a fantasy world which provokes insane behaviours.
Welllllllll.....
The movie was certainly "fast", and it was definitely "Furious".... but ...
there was hardly any story (same old good guy - cop - bad guy - thief - story with a love angle thrown in between)
and the acting was nothing out of ordinary. The girl was cute though. No real role for her anyway.
and the characters were so naive... the cop never acted like a cop. The thief never acted like thief.
I am sure the movie-makers of 'Fast and Furious' are also biting their nails and slapping their wrist trying to understand why the movie has fired up all the box offices all over US. The revenues of this movie are like, crazy. It has been the top grosser the last weekend. Darn!
No use waiting for the DVD. You gotta see it in the theatre to enjoy all the NOS and all those 'precision driving' stunts. Some coooooooool action sequences.
Peacemaker, don't tell me you honestly thought that this was gonna involve an actual story. It was always gonna be moving sticks in suped-up cars.
Theif? The only theives were Johnny Tran and Hector. Vin Diesel was only wanted for beating the guy who killed his dad with a wrench yrs ago, that's all. He's not involved in theft per se at any point. Where he sets out to attack the truck is to defame Tran's group because he accused him of selling him out to the FBI. (remember him travelling almost 200 miles just to nab their civics? and mia warning her brother not to do it?)
For what it set out to do, it's a very good watch. Although it would've been even better if they'd focused more on the inside workings n dealings of drag racing . Vin Diesel was perfectly cast.
