Re: The far-Right leader in a Sikh headscarf and a very disturbing anti-Muslim allian
Hmmm
I live in the UK and whilst I watch and note the rise of the far rise… I can say comfortably that its nothing serious as all. Majority of people consider the EDL/CXF/BFP as a laughing stock. Much is being made of this supposed Alliance between them and some members of the Sikh community… but like the BNP before them and the National front they forget to mention that majority of Sikhs dont support them and whilst they even have some Muslims in thier ranks they are not worth the attention we are giving them.
I would have thought that the far right might enjoy support in the Country but most rural folk would see them off the land at the barrel of a shotgun.
Re: The far-Right leader in a Sikh headscarf and a very disturbing anti-Muslim allian
Why do you live in Europe if you hate teh west and kuffar so much? Doesnt' this make you a hypocrite?
Again you put words into others mouths. This is MY country too and I am entitled to my opinion and you do not know me to make such bold statements. I love all humans be they muslim or non muslim and my actions prove this. And Europe does not belong to any particular people or group.
I am speaking out against the oppression faced by my people on a daily basis and the hatred that is spreading because no other media will give us a voice and are using propaganda and hatred to demonise almost 2 billion people who are not all the same. And many non muslims agree with me, the ones who also care about humanity regardless of creed.
The word 'Kafir or kufr' you are taught to be an insult merely means 'non believer' in arabic, yet you are taught it means something derogatory because your media spreads hate. When a christian calls me a non believer in their language, i am not offended, because they are right, I do not believe in christianity.
Now if you want something to rant about, i advise you to check out the jewish torah and books which teach all non jews are 'goyim' or 'gentiles' (animals, subhuman, slaves of jews), why arent you or others offended by that? Oh I know.... because you only demonise muslims yet those who are bleeding you dry on a regular basis, causing world wars and ruining your economies to help prop up Israel as the worlds superpower are let off free because they own everything you think you do and run everything according to their corrupted beliefs. At least I know what I am talking about on a deeper level, but you obviously like to live in your own ignorance.

Seriously? and you're (falsely) accusing me of putting words in your mouth?

Normally cant see eye to eye with PJ. But she has c.laified the following
1) living in Europe and criticizing some aspects is not a contradiction.
2) kafir just means non- believer - not derogatory
3) she is not supporting the bad actions from her community members but objects to those actions being portrayed as being representative of the entire community.

I think most would agree with above points.
Not targeting PJ specifically but in general.
It is contradictory to invoke secular or irreligious western values to defend or promote rituals/practices/hardcore religious nonsense from your home country
Regardless of the literal meaning. the kafir word is often often often used with a negative tone (at least slightly negative) to it.
It does seem that the first reaction is often "HEY THATS JUST THEM NOT ALL OF US" instead of "That's terrible those guys deserve strict punishment......and also dont stereotype everyone". The focus seems to be more on "hey its not all of us"..meanwhile condemning the bad AND offering/mentioning help to fix the problem from the inside (since its the same community) becomes secondary.
Re: The far-Right leader in a Sikh headscarf and a very disturbing anti-Muslim allian
It's not legit/moral, only that's not PrincessJ's point here. If you spare a moment from rhetorical baiting (I know it's fun), you'll notice the obvious. Several posters have reacted the same way for a reason. OP's post #2 completely eclipsed the article, making it clear this thread is less about EDL and more about the need to grind the usual axe about a global conspiracy against Muslims. The theme here is similar to the one in the Honor Killings thread. The commentary is zealously one-sided, which is why Sara516's response resonated with everyone. I'm sure you don't think Sara needs to clarify that she doesn't endorse neo-Nazism.
What Princess J states is not relevant to what I stated. I was merely stating the pot is as black as the kettle. Its one to complain about silence as being complicity when you actually do point out that the neo-nazi group is taking advantage of racial tensions, its another when you ignore it all together.

Yes, the vast majority of Sikhs don't support them.. It's just the lunatic fringe.. We have our own tiny lunatic fringe of Muslims and they have theirs..
I was reading up on the case the EDL + their Sikh supporters were protesting about, the alleged rape of a Sikh girl in Luton.. They were saying all sorts of things, that she had been dragged into the woods etc.. Turns out the Muslim guy in question was her Pakistani bf, they were actually in a relationship and they had some sort of domestic.. He was charged with assault.. Still bad but not exactly the 'targetted rape of Sikh girls' they were trying to make out.. Quite sick that a personal dispute has been twisted into something else.. I hope he gets punished for what he did but at the same time I hope people in the future are smart enough to see when groups like the EDL are twisting and taking advantage of situations like this to push their own agendas..
Re: The far-Right leader in a Sikh headscarf and a very disturbing anti-Muslim allian
Yep the Lunatics get too much publicity and its sad really. Many more people across the board regardless of faith or colour have done good things... but few get mentioned. When these barbarians hit the street and have a riot suddenly it becomes a national emergency.
We really should do more to help out society and ignore those who want to ruin it.
I spent time with those who would happily strap bombs to themselves for what they believed in... supposedly they thought they were being made extinct and thier way of life being threatended... but killing themselves and others makes things worse.
Likewise I spent time with ultra facists who wanted to commit vast attrocities on people just becuase of skin tone. Now those goons had the belief that killing large numbers of coloured people would deter them from coming into thier country... I wont mention the country in question. Suffice to say that at least immigrants come to work, if you kill them then doubtless the next wave will be fighters seeking vengeance and you will create a cycle that goes on to a long time.

Actually, this is more an issue to do with attacking muslims regardless of what others may think, they have their opinions., but I stick to mine. Of course these extremist groups want to take advantage, but they are supported by many people including the media site the article was taken from which is well known for spreading hatred against muslims on a daily basis. You can twist this as you wish but the reality of the situation speaks for itself.
