The Expected Valentine''s Day thread

What are your plans for it, if any?

Do you celebrate it? It doesn’t always have to be expressing love in a romantic way only. It can be for parents, sibs anyone

Agree or disagree?

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

Agree. Can be for anyone. Not originally meant as such, but as there are many singles out there, why should they not celebrate?

I’m planning on buying chocolates/nice dessert and having a hay day.

Maybe I’ll go out and obstinately sit at a restaurant and have a nice meal.

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

I don’t believe on valentine day, if you love someone you can express is any day,why one particular day

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

I shall start off small because sadly as a man I am expected to out do myself every year on Valentine’s day. So chocolates, a card and maybe something else.

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

Really? :smack:

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

My plan for that day so far are go to work, maybe make some phone calls, get back home, go to masjid, then come home, go to sleep. That’s my routine on Thursdays anyway, and no, we don’t celebrate it.

parents, siblings… :rotfl:

why do people feel the need to halalify every western custom they adapt?

its like doing milaawat

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

Yeah! Ordered Ajwa Dates from Zam Zam Store.

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

My husband and I usually go for dinner. He brings home flowers which I think is adorable  This year is very different. I am expecting and chances are huge baby might be here by valentines day … so no plans to go out or anything like that.

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

Disagree. Its fine for kids to do this. But for adults, it’s ridiculous. Of course, people can put whatever twist they want to it based on their cultural/religious beliefs…but Valentine’s is not meant for platonic relationships.

As for me, nothing special will be done that day. Since it’s a weekday we’ll both work. If hubby is not working in the evening, then I may cook a nice dinner and we’ll probably end up renting a movie from Redbox. Going to a nice restaurant is a frigging nightmare IMO on that day. Everywhere is packed, often service is rushed, and most workers don’t even want to be there. We usually go out to a nice dinner the weekend AFTER Valentine’s.

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

Nope..i don’t celebrate it nor i endorse it much. That is because..everyday should be valentines day for everyone..regardless of any relationship..

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

Nah not really, I stopped wanting to celebrate a while ago. But I will wear pink/red
and I’ll eat the V-day chocolates

Re: The Expected Valentine’'s Day thread

never stop WANTING to celebrate it - once you let that little flame in you die, it’s hard to bring it back
