There r lot of misconception abt fits due to epilepsy,hysteriya etc all these r concerned with ur brain and here in subcontinent i ve seen ppl taking patients of fits to holy man for cure.well as future doc let me tell u we know the cause of fits in human brain but today technology is not so advanced that we can permanently cure it but it can be controlled.Now take for example the cause of fits due to epilepsy.Our brain has electric discharges to send signals to nerves in order to perform various body functions.these electrical discharges r known as neurons.well when there is some erractic discharge of neurons in brains it causes fits and if these signals dont reach the other part of the body then that part stops working ie it becomes paralysed.
U said u grand ma had fits problem and her voice changed and became male like.the reason for that is in fits ur muscles becomes stiff and thus in case of ur grand ma it may ve affected her vocal chords there by changing her vibrating freqencies.so thats the reason her vocie changes during fits.and now a person can die due to massive fits also if it effect its vital organs.
Look u being in usa must ve not believed in these things like a person possesed by spirits etc.
Ok if holy books says there r spirit i agree but i'll only believe if i exp it like gravity with proofs.now as i said before im not atheist i believe in supreme but accept it only when i exp it.
