Jews have been looking to re-establish their nation ever since they were kicked out. There was a very strong movement and Jewish immigration way before WWII. Jews feel they need Israel because God promised the land to Abraham's descendents thousands of years before the advent of Islam. According to God, Israel actually owns everything from the Euphrates to the Nile, so we ought to be pleased they are content with the little strip of land they now occupy.

In any case, what's done is done. It's unrealistic to expect the Israelis to move out of Palestine, plus they're doing a much better job with the land than the Arabs were. They got what they got by fighting for it, if the Arabs wanted it that bad, they should have fought harder.
