The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

When it comes to police, I think they produce / contribute to noise pollution to great extent. They are always in hurry with their horns on, but I wonder they never reach wardaat wali jaga on time :hmmm:

wardaat ki Hindi? Dur-Ghatna I think

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

Do you have anything to contribute? If yes, be my guest. If no, you can still hang around.

If you care about this topic, you will find an instant e or two of waste that u have seen around u. Or of waste that you urself engage in. That is how YOU can interact.

taking offense? Are you kidding me? I love guests. The more critical the better. At least that draws more eyeballs. So criticize away.

hey. Come back.

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

In other news, activity in this thread shot up. Number of new guests were recorded at 3 if u count a guest issuing a like. Number of new posts from guests were 6. For the first time posts from guests outnumbered OP post.

ROI? Don’t ask.

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

You know you could have quiet easily multiquoted all these posts by the OP and replied to each and everyone of them through 1 post. Talk about wasting resources. As a seasoned CM I’m pretty sure it’s your responsibility to create an example, and not to do the stupid things a regular member of the forum does.

While your sentiments are noble, in this day and age, an individual can’t really do much, besides maybe saving a bucket of water a day. When entire countries are collectively ruining the environment, what can an individual do? Let’s take China for example. The AQI index of that country, in any part, is so ridiculous that it’s detrimental to people’s healths. But what can 1 person do, when the buildings are built without centralized heating which uses renewable resources, and people are forced to heat their homes with coal burners. Are they supposed to sit there with their children in freezing temperatures, in the name of saving resources? No one is actively asking that country to switch to renewable resources, and instead are encouraging them to burn fossil fuels by sending all sorts of manufacturing in that country because it’s cheap. And to be fair, it’s not fair to ask that of China when the Western world has had it’s share of burning of fossil fuels. And on that same note, countries are refusing to sign the recommendations given out by the Kyoto Protocol, because it hurts their bottom line in the near future, not realizing that long term it’s detrimental to them. And what about all these wars that are being waged around the world. I’m pretty sure you can’t recycle all the waste that that produces into something more beneficial for 1 individual, or a whole town, or a city, or the country. So it’s not a defeatist attitude that someone is adopting, it’s a more realistic one.

Saying that, I don’t encourage people to sit there with the tap on filling the lota up to the brim and wasting water, nor do I encourage people to throw their old batteries in the garbage when they can be disposed/recycled off properly. But we must be realistic that 1 person’s efforts will only help the microenvironment, not the macroenvironment.

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

Already done my friend. And FYI, my first post in this thread holds. AV right now is littered with threads started by you, in the same pattern as this one, without active posting. Your threads are interesting, but I still hold that they should be posted in a blog. People would be more inclined to contribute something in that (blog) format than in this (forum post) format.

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

Excuse me! don’t try to act like police. My bandwidth, my resources, meri marzi jaise use karoon. Its none of a multi’s business to tell me when I use multi-quote. Everyone got his / her style of responding posts, I just don’t like multi-quote function.

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

Kind Sir, how would you know if I’m a multi or not?

And it’s not your resources, nor it’s your bandwidth. AFAIK, this is not a website owned or paid by you. And you’re excused

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

Ess

Not much time to respond. Some things stood out. You r preaching to the choir re wars third world countries China not being main reason. Per capita us is biggest polluter.

What I take issue with is ur defeatist attitude. That an individual can’t make impact. Sorry that is just plain ignorant. Like the previous poster X2. Hence my reaction.

It burns me up when people talk like that. If u r doing ur part great. But don’t give me that sh1t.

If u read title it is about instances of waste we engage in. Using drive throughs driving gas guzzler watering lawns in desert area wasting water while cleaning dishes by letting tap run taking long showers driving car by being lead footed playing golf attending na scar events

Come on now. Each of us changes our habit. Do u know how much waste we as individuals make in the west. So open ur mind. U r bright. U SHOULD KNOW BETTER.

Ur comment on multi quoting- that was lame and uncalled for.

Come back though. I get lonely at times.

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

Calm down now buddy. I’ve been coming back to this thread and again and again. Where do you run off to?

IMO, and this is probably my own conspiracy-tin-foil-hat-theory, but the whole “it’s up to you to save the environment” is a ploy by the big coorporations/governments etc to get the responsibility of actually doing something off their shoulders and lay the blame game on the single individual. Then they have an excuse to say “yeah well, we can’t do much, our people/customers aren’t into the environment so why should we invest in protocols to reduce our emission/save the dolphins and the oceans”. Don’t mean to sound like Kevin O’Leary, but the name of the game is money. People do things because of money. And with money is attached prestige/show off-ing. People recycle because the garbage tags cost money, but recycle bins, no matter how many are free. People save water because water bills are through the roof. People do laundry in the middle of the night because you get charged less to do heavy duty things at night. People buy organic/pesticide/GMO free because they get to show people how “unique” and how “thoughtful” they are. It’s probably a handful of individuals now that do something to protect the environment. I was a visionary like you as well once. Not too long ago. But I grew up, and saw what motivates people. And it’s not the pretty butterfly that comes in their backyard. It’s the money that they get to put in their own pockets. Be it the individuals, or the giant corporation.

And I hold true to my earlier statement about multiposting. In real life, outside of computers and keyboards, two people can not have a conversation when it’s just 1 person talking constantly for half an hour. It’s a bit of a turn off really.

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

ignoring super-sensitive posters is the best policy.

Now save your bandwidth by not derailing the thread, which got life after 7 days :sunnyboy:

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

Are you saying you’re the super sensitive poster and you’re going to ignore me now? Good.

And it hasn’t been given a life by you, that’s for sure

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

Not interested, honey.

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

If you’re not interested, then why keep replying to me? Or did you just realize you’re in hot waters and decided to back off? If so, then that’s probably the first intelligent thing you’ve done.

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

Because someone super sensitive quoted me. Its not me who quoted first. Hath kangan ko aarsi kiya :cobra:

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

I’m not the one throwing a hissy fit here. Lagay raho, you’re just adding to my post count.

Re: The Env. Corner. Examples of waste that you saw today. And that you prevented

You are quite tempted to increase your post count. But meri taraf se bye. Lets keep this thread on its usual track. aap apne badle kabhi kisi aur thread main poore karna
