A common excuse among some of the present day Muslims.
a hadith is comes from where when there is a long line of ppl who are passing on one message(one person who saw the prohet do seomthing or heard him say soemthing should be done this certain way)..its common sense that the message will become distorted soemwhere along the way..how can u be so sure of hteir authenitticity? where u there some hiundred s years ago?.. I DONT THINK SO..
ppl dont need excuses to do what they want..they dont really care casue htey do what they want anywayzz..
so please stop ur 'wholier than thou' attitude..

Common logic should be declared fabricated no matter where it came from.
I have posted a grave example of it in another thread I am posting it again here. Now you tell me if the hadees in question is declared fabricated how it benifits anybody’s lifestyle ? Pay attention to the last sentence of the hadees.
Every mature mind has created an Image of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in their mind. This image relies on Quran and our logic, our understanding of religion. For example, i Believe that Prophet (SAW) was the noble messenger of Allah. He was merciful, noble and just. He was sin-free, error-free and infallible. He was brave and had an exalted character. Every action done by him (SAW) was in accordance to the commands and guidance of Allah. Read Muhammad (SAW) Of The Quran to know more about what i believe and why do i do so.

“Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah: While Allah’s Apostle was carrying stones (along) with the people of Mecca for (the building of) the Ka’ba wearing an Izar (waist-sheet cover), his uncle Al-'Abbas said to him, “O my nephew! (It would be better) if you take off your Izar and put it over your shoulders underneath the stones.” So he took off his Izar and put it over his shoulders, but he fell unconscious and since then he had never been seen naked.

the aunthenticity of any hadeeth can not be guaranteed. period
whether it goes against quran
agrees with quran
or 'adds to' quran.
as far as people calling hadeeth fabricated..
we have people who claim to follow hadeeth but then say that the sayings about not fasting if you travel are not relevant today because the travel is much simpler and convenient
or that eating the meat prepared by the people of the book is no longer okay because they dont follow the faith..as if they were really following their faith then.
or people getting stuck among words like madhabs and considering them mutually exclusive as if god himself planned multiple versions of religion.
