But what if the trolls don’t want to come back? I’ve always wondered what would happen when the boys and girls became men and women and they no longer had time or interest to surf and post on GS? Can anyone else take the place of the trolls we know or are they irreplaceable?

I said behave BETTER, not become choirboys. There's a world of naughty they could get up to, while still being a teeny bit nicer at times or at least invoking the self-censor button every once in while.

Dear OP.

sehrysh put it mildly. Let me say it a bit more directly.

trolls get banned because they break forum rules. and the responsibility/authority

to decide who is 'needed' on the site or not, who stays or who goes, is solely that of

the management.

the least you can do is not disrespect the judgement,integrity and competence of the forum administration. I am sure whatever they do is for the best interest of the forum. :)

Fraands, without darkness we would not know light. Without evil, we would not appreciate what is good. Such is the delicate and necessary balance of life. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing. And even the fishbowl that is Gupshup cannot escape this reality. For when that balance is broken….yes, even on Gupshup….a string of calamaties take place. And on GS, they are as follows:

1.  A disturbing lull has pervaded the forums.  
   

2.  GS has become so flaccid that Viagra had to intervene.
   

3.  STA, of all people, (bless) is trying to revive Life 1.

While they are far from being the signs of Qiyamah, they should not be taken lightly. I fear darker days lie ahead where we may be confronted by graver possibilities:

^Once again, as you can see, trouble tends to come in threes. I propose that the ban either be lifted or the sentence of the sinners….I mean trolls…be reduced so that normalcy may once again be restored on GS. Think of them as good bacteria that are essential for a healthy immune system.

Tsk tsk....such little turn out. I am truly disappointed considering the dull drab feel to GS. So here is what I suggest we all strike from posting till the "trolls" are back. Whoops. Seems people already are. That won't work....

Also isn't it interesting that mainly mods posted in this thread? I guess they feel safe enough not to earn the Ire of the Nazgul!

And Desi spirit please don't pull a PPP. Questioning and disagreeing with the views of anyone is not disrespect. It is the true beauty of freedom of speech. Please don't limit the ability for posters to post freely. But then again the GS management is well know for its level of competence and management efficiency.
