Hamid Mir was sitting with a bunch of leaders in the Geo Isl studio for comment during the afternoon. They connected over to PTV where a PTV anchor was talking to Pm Aziz live from the NA.
About the mood the PM told the reporter that except some minor issues in Peshawar all was well.
On this Hamid Mir lost it, suffered a fit and commented in the studio:
*"Nazreen aap ne dekha ke Shaukat Aziz saab samjhte hain ke Peshawar Bar Council ke sadar ki tangen tootna aur wukla ke sar phatna aur baktar band ko aag lagna ek maamooli baat hai..."
*To this a proGovt official in the studio took strong notice and fired back telling Hamid;
*"Aap ye alfaaz kaise istemal ker sakte hain ke PM saab samajhte hain ke PBC Pres ke tangein, wukla ke sar ke exact khabar PM ko hai aur jab ke unhon ne bilkul bhi aisa kuch nahikaha!?"
Hamid heatedly replied *"to aap ka matlab hai aap ka PM ek bekhabar aadmi hai...?"
The govt guys kept trying to tell him that his words were misinforming the viewers and the PM did not say any such thing and that Hamid was misleading and adding his own perceptions and distorting the issue.
Which was all very true!
Hamid Mir is turning into a blatantly anti-govt journalist who is always on a lookout for ways to degrade the govt, and has the nerve to use the term "aap ka PM" as if he isn't his PM! What is he not a Pakistani!? Pathetic of him and his likes to ever speak of professional journalism, ethics and code of conduct.
While the half a million a month professional jourlaist didnt have the professional capacity to ask or wonder why a peaceful strike turned violent, who burnt the APC, did the PBC Pres wear a name tag on his chest and the Police broke his legs on purpose, what was he doing? Why did the police and lawyers clash? how did it begin!? Of course the police didnt wake up the lawyers from bed in the morn and broke their heads or legs, they did smthng wrong too!
Shouldn't the PM or the govt Sue him or Jang Group for this?
Ironic how contempt of court is a big fad, while there are no concepts of contempt of govt, contempt of parliament, Presidency, PM, ministries, Army and other govt institutions...
I think the govt should thrash such deceptive journalists through the very same system behind which they are hiding.
Every such case should be followed up by a suit filed by the govt against any offender. Of course the courts will at least decide half of the cases with neutrality!
