Mods- I think the underlying issues are more political than anything else, so I am posting here. -----------Today’s Dawn carries an article about BT in India. As is the custom these days it is highly laudatory, with some reason, about how India has become the next ctr of BT reasearch, following the earlier success in IT.Now, it caught my eye that India has become a leader in cotton exports using BT!!! From a importer of cotton status to it has become an exporter. Guess who buys the most cotton from Inida? China ofcourse!Pakistan is supposed to be a great textile export industry. What happened? Everytime there’s a coup or a religious outbreak, all attention and resources get diverted and no science or technology is developed. Next thing you know, someone ealse has captured the market.In the mean time Pakistan ends down with satisfying mullas and armies.Way to go, don’t you think? Or make that way to go down.
