The Eclipse In My Life
By Kirtimalini Jagdeesh Kuber
Rain is falling on the windowpanes.
The sky looks as if about to swallow the whole world.
In such a lonely scary night
I turn the pages of my life
There on one page is a name,
Which suddenly takes me into the past
Where the days were bright
And the nights were very cold
On this vague night resembling
The others we have spent
In the balcony of our room
Thinking about our future
And painting our dreams
I remember you my friend
And a tear rolls down my cheek
How far we have traveled
Such a wall to part us
From where we hoped to be
We are miles away from thee
Can’t we change our present?
Can’t we be like the old times?
A bright lightening blinds my vision
And I see the falling rain
I don’t want to change my present
I don’t want to change my future
I want my past rewritten and
The haunting name erased!
