Given Pakistanis tendency to embrace conspiracy theories, the long march must surely be considered as a prime target for anyone wishing to destabilise Pakistan and distract it from its offensive against terrorists on the western border.
Militants have already proven themselves able to penetrate and attack government-defended political rallies such as the attacks on Benazir, Shaukat Aziz, and Musharraf himself.
The Long March will be without such government protection, particularly as its VVIPs are avoiding the government agencies that would normally be responsible for protection.
A suicide bombing that kills Nawaz or Imran Khan would immediately be blamed by their supporters on Zardari and unleash riots on a huge scale in Punjab at least. Even if a VVIP is unhurt, one or multiple bombings could provoke a stampede that would eb bloody and also be blamed on the government. Riots on such a scale would take the focus of security forces off of the western border regions.
I hope that the organisers of the Long March are taking security precautions to ensure that no militants are able to infiltrate and unleash havoc. This would play directly into the hands of our worst foes
Re: The easiest way for our enemies to destabilise Pakistan: Bomb the Long March
We have already seen too much. Ask the parents who loose their sons. Ask the children eho lost their parents. No more blood shade.
Ask everyone to change the mind. Don't go to do every thing to gain power. Cool down and do some thing for nation.
I hope that the organisers of the Long March are taking security precautions to ensure that no militants are able to infiltrate and unleash havoc. This would play directly into the hands of our worst foes :(
We don't need any more bombings. Nor a revolution. We just need the leadership of 4 parties to resign from taking any part in politics.
bombings are happening and unfortunately will happen regardless of whether looong march happens or not, anti pal forces are active in the destablization process
if leadership of 4 parties in pakistan resigns (big IF ) the parties will be no more, do you suggest military govt?
