The allotment of electoral symbols created controversy, as some of the candidates termed the symbols allotted to them as “objectionable”. “Banana” was the most controversial symbol in the list of candidates for Nazims and Naib Nazims. At the time of allotment almost every candidate was in state of apprehension he might not get “banana” as electoral symbol.
