how different is bridal makeup which the bride wears to party makeup which the brides sisters, cousins wear etc
i dont see the difference as both the brides makeup looks the same as her sisters, friends or other relatives,
so whats the point in charging 3 times as much for bridal makeup?
is the technique different, the amount they use different or is it more time consuming, no idea please help.

u r rite actually;) i think it could b bit diff for sis,frnds or all non brides in sense of the amount of makeup but i dont think so dat in engagement makeup or for a barat or walima makeup r huge different things...they r almost the same except the colors dat r used according to bride's dress..

I was told by some random Makeup artists that the main difference is the contouring and the amount of makeup applied...layers?

madeeha’s from where i got ma nikah makeup done dint contour me at all… n i took full bridal package, btw if someone (bride-to-be) wanna consider madeeha, tell me, I 'll show ma nikah pic … but madeeha’s dint contour ma face, cheatingggggggggggg …

and for this thread, what i noticed during ma makever process at madeeha's on ma nikah .... there was no difference in quality of foundation... they were using same techniques--- brides' foundation was taking more time to get dried :Das if it was some paint... than gals wid party makeup
then wid eye makeup, no artificial lashes were applied, unless otherwise asked for...colors used in party makeup was from different pallets and for bridal they were different, even i noticed the pallet which was used by siffat to correct ma makeup (just to correct as i was in senior artist makeup) were different.
So what i think they really use low quality and low quantity on party makeups... and maaaaaaaaaaaannnn dupatta setting is such a tricky job, specially wid heavey boders and wid less hair on head ;) so... bridal makeup took lil more efforts, or atleast madeeha's gals were pampering brides more than others :D

I don't they just charge for makeuP, most desi bridal packages come with dupatta setting, hairdo and free pins and eyelashes. I don't see why they would charge twice the price for just makeup

depends where you go.......and the level of MUA that is assigned to you as well....
technically speaking bridal make up should be able to stand up to a full day of lights and photography....whereas party make up may not go the distance.
the products used should be unique and high-end.
perhaps Gina can shed some light as I'm sure she would know the difference between them.....

tell me can i go for party makeup instead of engagement makeup for my nikah?? plz tell me i m getting soo confused cuz i want very soft and light makeup and hair style..not joora etc type. i m thinking to have a party makeup done from madeeha's..it'll be ok or not??

thats a good idea for you if you want light makeup and considering it is just nikah.
You can have some artistic cousin or friend help set your dobatta

I used the same make up artist as my best friend when she got married, she used lighter make-up and spent less time on me (like, 45mins-ish), whereas she spent nearly 3 hours with the bride and was a bit more fussy about taking her time and what she did. you can tell the difference though sometimes

I'm a makeup artist and can tell you that with bridal, there is soooo much to do whereas party, its just light makeup. Dupatta setting for bridal is hard to set as you need it fixed in a way so that the bride doesn't feel it heavy on the head.
@Inshaal - If you want a light makeup on your nikah then ask for party makeup. :)
