what does ASTAGHFIRULLAH mean and what does astaghfar mean? seem to get confused is there a difference or do they actully mean the same thing?

same thing. astaGhfaar is the shorter version. astaGhfaar = tauba, baKhshish, mo'aafii

astaGhfirallah = maiN Allah se maGhfirat chaahtaa huN...i seek Allah's forgiveness/refuge
astaGhfaar = taubaa, maKhshish, forgiveness

The actual word is istaghfaar not astaghfaar ...

Istaghfaar is the name given to the act of saying astaghfirullah .... In this case astaghfirullah is correct.
