I cant believe nobody opened a thread on this flick. I was scared to trembles while watching this…the only movie after “The Grudge”, “Jun-On” and “SAW” that has scared me so much. Its gruesome, bloody and gory but there’s something about those caves and that makes it so much more sinister.
Anyone seen it? I’d like to know what u thought of the last scenes and if you think it was justified.
Watch it!
oh yes synopsis from moviefone about the movie:
“One year after a tragic accident, six girlfriends meet in a remote part of the Appalachians for their annual extreme outdoor adventure, in this case the exploration of a cave hidden deep in the woods. Far below the surface of the earth, disaster strikes, and there’s no way out. The group splinters and each woman pushes on, praying for another exit. But there is something else lurking under the earth. As the friends realize they are now prey, they are forced to unleash their most primal instincts in an all-out war against an unspeakable horror –- one that attacks without warning, again and again and again.”
Re: The Descent...
Seen it. But since I have seen every horror/slasher/gory movie on the planet..this seemed okayish to me. But I did like it.
Re: The Descent...
Saw it last week...what annoyed me to no end were these two girls sitting in front of me who had no ability to control their screaming...very shrill...
The only thing I didn't like was that the 'scary' parts had no biild up...besides 2 seconds of music...any movie can startle you like that, I suppose. What I was hoping for was a bit of suspense...kind of like the 80's Alien and Aliens (now those were great movies)! And a plot...the plot could have played with with psyco-lady's condition a bit more...I mean, did that 'tragic accident' have to occur at all? It had nothing to do with the movie...
The last scene...of course, I first expected a roadside accident. But when she turned her head to see you-know-who, I thought that at least the movie vindicated itself. Psyco-lady shouldn't have survived otherwise...
Re: The Descent...
spoiler alert
I think the purpose of the tragic accident was to somehow justify the last scene where psycho lady hacks the lady in the leg ( that had an affair with her husband)
I didnt like the fact that she left her to die and didnt quite agree with it. i mean yeah she had an affair with her husband and yes she was the one that got them in the situation but i still didnt see that as right.
Re: The Descent...
It was an OK movie, nice picturization. However it can't be called horror but suspense movie rather.
