It's only going to get higher if demand increases. At the moment people see gold as a safe bet for investment. It's a metal always holding a value since ever. If more people start panic buying price goes up. BTW most of the worlds gold goes to India so blame them.

Actually, India's role in the price of gold is not as big as you think. They have a seasonal demand during weddings, but so does Pakistan and the Arab world, and that seasonal demand has been around forever. The real reason the price of gold is so high lately is because the American dollar has weakened and more people are investing in gold rather than the dollar. Apparently, it might go as high as $1000 an ounce, but that it'll eventually come back down. In the 1980's, it was this expensive and it eventually came down in the mid 90's.

hehe its actually not for my wedding. I wanted to get my mom something gold but even the smallest sets are like a good $800-1200, cant even imagine what medium and big sets are 
Actually I dotn know if I want gold at all for my wedding if its going to be this expensive. I would rather wear silver or gold plated. My fiance and in-laws dont really care how much gold I get alhumdulilah.
