The Cost Of Defence Expenditure: Research Paper Help

I need some statistical help regarding the cost of defence expenditure. The library over here harldy has any useful reference book and I am unable to get the statistical details on the web. I would appreciate it if someone can get me the recent budgets of the following countries with special focus on the prooportion of the GDP they spend on Defence:

Switzerland
Pakistan
North Korea
Russia

I need some examples of countries which have progressed greatly because they have cut down on defence spending.

The Economist did (does) a yearly survey on global defense spending. Infact, they did one that I read within the last 4-6 months. Go to www.economist.com and search under defense spending in surveys. It might cost like $ or something to get the doc but it was good and cites examples of refcusing pf public spending nad the benefits in certain countries. Brazil might be on eo fthem...

There are also quite a few magazines on defence and military. they may be a way to get some of the starts. As almost anything else, I would suggest a google search with the key words of interest.

The problem lies in getting the statistics. I have tried google and other search engines but i am unable to get budget figures...

BTW: I told you to go the Economist site. Now you can dillydally on google or get the report I told you about.

Sorry Matsui Bhai, I forgot to mention you in the last post, I did go to the economist site and got quite a lot of figures (that too free!), i was just looking for a little more sources :) Thanks:)
